Well I have not been here in quite a while. Some of you might remember that I took my car into the shop about 7 months ago to have some paint and body work done. The shop did most of the work (they supposedly forgot to paint the door, I didnt notice until later). So i picked the car up about 6 months ago and was taking it home when I was merging onto the freeway and WHOOOSH! The hood flies up and comes crashing into my windshield! They forgot to latch the hood completely when they were finished painting it! So a wrecker picks up my car and takes it back to their shop where it has sat for 6 months! They keep saying its almost done....well they have been telling me that for 6 months and so far I have personally seen nothing done. They ordered a new hood and were supposedly going to have some custom graphics put on it but I havent reaped those benefits either.

My question is, do I have a legal case? Seems a little ridiculous to take 6 months to paint a hood, door, and replace a windshield cowl:shrug: Verbal contracts are binding in the my state of Ohio, and he has missed roughly 5 verbal deadline agreements.:(

I'd go to a lawyer and have him send them a letter. That's probably all it will take and I doubt the lawyer would charge you that much for just a letter and no further action.

Wow that is bull**** that they forgot to install a part, which in turn caused damage to your car that COULD have caused you to get into an accident and they are taking their sweet ass time fixing it...

You have a better patience than I do.

Also, the hood was aftermarket and thus not DOT approved. Do you think they would use that as an excuse and say they did close the hood?

This sucks and I really dont want to deal with this. I graduated college yesterday and would rather be celebrating!

I would give the shop one more chance...call them and tell them you want a date when it will be completed. Tell them this is the last call you are going to make to them, that any further calls will be from your attorney..

That usually gets things straight...Did when I ended up taking legal action against Ford!
