04 cobra brakes on 94

Get a 94-95 Cobra master too. I had 94-945 Cobra brakes on my 95GT and they sucked, because I didn't use the Cobra master cylinder. I almost wrecked the car because it wouldn't stop.

Never heard of that problem before, so maybe something else was going on or the stock master went bad.

I kept the stock GT master cylinder, largely because so many people on here said it worked great for them and provided much better pedal feel. My experience: perfect pedal feel, 200% better braking (actually safe now), and no issues in 2 years.

The Cobra m/c will make the pedal a bit soft, but it will work of course.

The ABS system still operates as intended. I've been in a couple situations where the ABS system was needed and it operated as expected. We don't have the best or ideal ABS system, but it is better than nothing.

I wish I could run Cobra brakes. I'm sure they are better than these Aerospace's I have.

If you've got 17" wheels and $400 for the front set, $400 for the rear set, plus $100 for new stainless brake lines, then your set. Total brake replacement excluding the master cylinder: calipers, discs, lines, and all hardware.

The brake lines and/or connectors are a little different from the stock GT, but any local shop can fix that.

Yeah, that's the whole problem, I want to be able to run my 15" Pro Stars.

Kurt

You can if you don't mind running 1" spacers.

I have cobra brakes in front and rear with stainless steel brake lines and the damn thing stops so incredibly well. And thats with the GT m/c which i think and everyone else who has felt it, provides a much better brake feel and I have been in situations where normally the abs would have gone off but the car stops now most times without ever even going into abs mode. including in the rain. Been over a year i have running this setup and no problems with stopping what so ever.

The rear Cobra brakes are about as large as the stock GT front brakes.

I actually had problems with the rear stock GT brakes, so I decided to swap everything out for the 04 Cobra setup front and rear. This setup should give me another 10+ years of reliability with little more than pad replacement.

Anyone replace their rear brake lines? I haven't yet, but noticed that MM has a SS brake line kit for our cars (5 lines total: 2 front, 3 rear).
