Where is the Battery ground cable suppose to go on a 67 mustang coupe 289?

Not 100% sure but most mustangs I have dealt with the ground goes from the battery to the block. There should also be a ground wire from the back of the block to the firewall.

Yup. Can't tell you exactly where on the block/head it goes to tho.

IIRC my original battery ground cable on my '65 was not attached to the engine block, but to the starter with one of the the starter mounting bolts.

Mine in my '66 is attached to the side of the block coming from the battery.

I have as yet been able to find a "ground strap" on mine from the back of the block to the firewall which probably explains why my park lights come on when the brake peddle is pushed, etc.

The ground strap is cheap enough to buy, I just haven't figured out where exactly it is supposed to go as yet.

run the heavy cable to the block, anywhere you can bolt the end to. i have used a bolt that hold the motor mount to the block for instance. then run a 10 gauge wire from the battery clamp to the body. that will make sure all your grounds run directly to the battery as they should.

The ground strap is cheap enough to buy, I just haven't figured out where exactly it is supposed to go as yet.

Either to one of the bolt holes on the back of the passenger side head or to one of the bellhousing bolts.
