Wrecked my Mustang, maybe totalled. pics... hide your children

Hey - at least you're in one piece. Damage definitely looks repairable. If you were looking to have the car totalled you should have "lost control" after the impact ;) Who knows though - your frame could be bent, it's hard to tell the damage without lifting up the car. Get your neck checked out, back injuries are no fun. (hit head on @30mph by car while on bike - my backpack broke my fall)

Shouldnt be totalled...

My buddy wrecked his 00 GT a while ago. Pretty much everything from front to the back had to be replaced and they still repaired it. Im talking about hood, front bumper, headlights, fog lights, left fender, door, left quarter panel, rear bumper, and the windshield too.

My car was much worse than that. Ripped me and the driver's seat right out of the rails and left me in the back seat. Damaged both my rear interior panels. Broke the welds in both my doors. Bent my front bumper under the fascia. Had to replace the trunk lid and weld up my trunk metal. I actually had over 10 grand in body work and I spent three months in physical therapy for neck injuries. I had to sue my insurance company for another $25 grand to take care of my medical and lawyer fees to recover the money that they did not want to pay out. I told them that it wasn't personal. Go get the uninsured motorist for the money but in the mean while pay out for what I pay monthly for... They never got the guy. He ran back to Mexico. I had a $100 deductible.

I have pictures of all the damage. And luckily I had pictures from the day before the accident.

The body on my car is still not right. My window on the passenger side is out of alignment and my rear panel is not fitting correctly and slowly cracking. One of my speaker grilles will not fit correctly.

My apologies, lol

Well, I hurt today. No surprise. Can't really turn my neck, it's all stiff and it hurts bad. Going to my back doctor today to make sure my rods and screws in my spine weren't damaged. Wish me luck.

After my accident my neck would freeze up on me where I couldn't turn my head. Took quite awhile to heal. Hope you get better soon and no back injuries.

I'm digging the fish stringer holding the bumper on. :p

On a serious note, sorry about the loss of your ride.

Actually, my repair shop said that my stock seat saved me from a broken neck. But I'm only 5'8". I was still strapped in when me and the seat ended up in the back seat. My seat belt ripped the rear panel towards the rear as I was tossed back there.

you shoulda drilled the old fossil that caused the accident I assume she drove off with out even knowing she was the cause of the mess. Another ive been driving for 50 years and never had an accident maybe so you old bat but you have caused twenty of them.

EXACTLY what I was thinking.

She probably saw that and though to herself, "damn children, stopping in the middle of the road and getting hit!"

what's the verdict?

Today they started the estimate, but they RAN OUT OF TIME.
There's so much bent, broken and missing parts they didn't finish. It's already up to $7,000 of damage. It's looking totaled. But they are giving it an additional $2,400 value because it was so low mileage (51,000)

I think with the money I'm getting, both car and for the pain I'm in, I can maybe make a down payment on a Mach 1... I found quite a few blue ones (the only color Mach I would get) for $13,000 to $14,000. So I'm down but not out.

I WILL own another Ponycar... It's just going to be a while.

Anyone want some used 3.73's? VIS carbon fiber hood? K&N intake?

Pull through

It'll take a good bit of work, but im sure you'll get her back up and running. doesn't seem like your friend twisted the chassi on impact. Good luck, hope it gets back on the road!
