Retrotek Purchase

  • Sponsors (?)

Been a while since I've worked on the car, I have the pump and fuellines run, the hardware mounted and the throttle body is on...just need to run the wiring and light the thing...problem is that being a Refrigeration/AC contractor and the temps are rising here in so. cal. so I've been very busy at work.
Everything so far has been pretty easy and the instrutions have been easy to follow.
Hope to get some time this coming week to complete the install and drive the car!!! I will update you guys ASAP.

I have been looking for some reviews on the RetroTek and finally found a decent one. The link is below, but be forwarned, it's on a Camaro forum. :D

Well, my new Retrotek just arrived. - Team Camaro Tech

Read the thread today and there is more info. From what I read the system isn't quite as simple as they say (is it ever?). The guy has had to install mulitple fuel maps, which could have been problems caused by his fuel pump, and another guy has said he had driveablity issues as well.
Anyway the thread starter says he's fixed all of the problems (again) and went fishing for a month and will post an update when he gets back, which should be about now. I'm curious to see if all of his problems are solved or if they return.

Valley any news on your end?

I'd like to know if there's any new news as well. I'm getting close to the point where I have to order the EFI for my current project and I was planning on using this system...

You might want to look at that one

I checked on the Camaro forum and the poster hasn't updated since July either. I wonder if Valley is having problems with his system?

Me too have been following the post here and there.
There is a serious lack of feedback about that product , could be a bad sign

I couldn't wait any longer and got myself a Microsquirt. It does what it says on the tin :flag:

I just got off the phone with them and the rep told me that the Powerjection III will be available March 15, which should work for me. If all else fails, the Powerjection I systems (satin) are currently in stock, ready to ship.

Hey Pete, did they give any indication as to pricing for the Powerjection III system? I'm getting the chills just thinking about it. Awsome!
David.

Yep -- $1495. That's without the fuel system, and the returnless system (that part is a small seperate controller box) adds $495, so the price will be about the same as the Powerjection I apples-to-apples. However, you can also choose to run a return-style fuel system, which you could put together for a few hundred bucks less.

Great idea! I should call them up and see what they say!
Just spent 3 days in Saskatoon at the beginning of the week, and ya, it was cold. -35 with a wind chill down to -45. Saw a lot of vehicles getting batteries boosted, some were even plugged in. My F250 Powerstroke was plugged in at the hotel and it sure complained a lot about having to start. Sounds like there will be a break at the end of the week.
