HOW DO I CHANGE A SERVO ON A C4 TRANNY

should be 4 bolts. You might have to pry a little or use a small hammer to get the cap off. Be careful, the servo piston is under pressure from a spring. Take note of how the piston is oriented (There will be a hole for fluid flow). Also, be prepared for some fluid to come out. I did it in the car and it was a PITA, but out of the car shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.

Yes, you do. I replaced mine when I had a c4 years ago. You will have to drop the pan and remove the valve body. Its really very easy so don't be worried about removing those. Once you get those off then remove the servo cover and then the servo. You will see a "thing" fall out of the inside of the tranny. It goes between the servo shaft and the band. You need to put it back in place when you re-install the servo. Then its as simple as installing the valve body, oil pan and servo cover... nothing to it.

BTW, why is it being replaced?

I tried to google this last night, and from my research, it seems like it's not really worth the effort.
Are you building high performance engine and trans, or do you just want to improve your stock trans shift?

nosboss when i change out the servo and i get the peice that falls out between the servo and the band does it stay with the servo as a matched pair or doesnt it matter when i put another servo in its place? Thanks allot
