351c swap

Well after buying a 92 notchback with the 5.0 and a t5 for 2500 bucks with 90000 miles on it I got it running. Car had a bad computer. So I was talking to my gfs dad and he goes well I have a 351c in the shed if you want it! I was like hell ya. So now I have the motor all broken down and ready to head off to the machine shop. This is what im planning let me know what you think and what i should be done. I am going to drive this car on the street and the track so it has to hual ass or i would have stuck with the 5.0. basicly I want a bad ass street car.

Buying a stroker kit to a 408 or something else mabye smaller so i dont have to go .30over
Sending block out to get clearenced and bored for stoker kit. Helps alot with lowend tourqe I read

I have that figured out now I move on to the part that looses me..........Heads!!!!!valves, springs lifters everything on the top!!

I have seen alot of people praising the aussie heads and their the same price as some aftermarket heads. So is that what i should do? I want to get 400 450 rwhp and also stick a bottle on it for 150 to 200(just for looks of course:nice:). What kind of pistons should i be looking at for this motor, and what compression ratio should I be at? Any help to shed some light on this would be awsome I want to build it myself and save some money instead of paying someone to do it I can do it and buy some better parts. Thanks

clevelands are thin if you go to .030 over you will crack the cyls. also to get a cleveland to haul it you have to spin some rpm's. i know because this is what we race. also no bottom end will make 450hp easy with simple things and a solid cam and good headwork and compression.

These are untrue statements...I know of several Cleveland powered vehicles that have minimal work and don't spin very high and run hard. I personally have a 351C .030 over with iron heads which I will be firing up here very soon. Not to take away from Stangnet as there are many knowledgeable guys/gals here but you should go to *******.com and there is a Cleveland section for members. very good information.

This is a fellow Cleveland swap owner in Canada. I don't think he would mid if I posted all his information but I did leave out some specifics. Hit me up if you have any questions. It seems alot of people on the internet who aren't overly familiar with the engine will turn you away from it. to each his own.

I say if you have access to an affordable one then why not try it.
