Hello all,
So yes I did try and search the subject but it seems like I cant find out any direct answers. I am thinking about going with a set of 99-04 rims on my 68 Coupe. I have done this before but I forget what size of adapter I need. Does anyone remember what size it is? I keep thinking it was a 1" but 1.5" keep crossing my mind too. Thanks all in advance!

Semper Fi,
Kris

P.S. What about putting on a set of 94-98 rims? Anyone have the size of the spacer for those too? Thanks again.

1" I believe

Most of my experience is with 65/66 cars but I believe the standard is 1" for all late model wheels up 95 to '04. The '05 had a greater backspacing and requires 1.25" to 1.5" bolt on spacers.

1.25" are fine for rears. 1.5" are minimum for fronts and I would say maximum too for not touching upper arms and fenders respectively. Remember those are for stock sn197 17x7 rims and 235 mm wide tires. Your mustang will get a killer look with those.

The problem is that I dont know what I am going to use. I keep searching for a set and want to be ready when I find the right set. Problem is that I leave for Iraq in two days and want the car to have some good wheels on it if my wife wants to drive it while I am gone. I think if I get the 1" then I should be good for most set ups from 94-04ish. Seems that is the general consensus around here right? Oh how I wish I had more time.....

Ok, I think I may have narrowed it down. I am looking at both the 17"x8" Bullit Anthracite Wheel from AM.

Anthracite Bullitt Wheel 94-04 (17x8) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

With the Nitto 555's all the way around in 245/45/17's.

NITTO Extreme Performance NT555 Tire (245/45-17) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

And going with the adapter kit from VV.

Wheel Conversion Kits — Vintage Venom - Vintage Mustang Disc Brake Kits

I plan on rolling the front fenders so would this setup work? I want the tires to be just fill the wheel wells and make it look nice and full. So that is plan one.

Plan Two:
Same tires and Konig Beyond Rims with the same spacers. Would those rims work if I get the 17x9's?

KONIG BEYOND [GRAPHITE] for your 1998 FORD MUSTANG - Custom Wheels and Rims for your Auto, SUV, or Light Truck from Performance Plus Tire

They are only 25 offsets on the 17x9's so I am not sure if they will work out. Thanks again for all the info. I will check this post when I can. Internet in Iraq isnt the best. Thanks in advance all!
