Intake Manifold replacement..?? opinions please!

So i just realized I am going to have to replace my intake manifold (long story). Usually when I am forced to replace existing parts, I upgrade them, so I was wondering if it would be worth it at all to replace this stock manifold ($200) with a typhoon intake manifold ($600). Does it really make a difference although i dont have cams? Would the extra 400 be worth it since ill be taking this apart anyway...?

if so do you all know of a place I can get this item cheaper? thanks!

The Typhoon is just an aluminum version of the OEM intake. The advantage (I guess) is it can be ported and polished. No advantge unported as it would be the same as the stocker. If you want a truely improved intake I would look for the Bullitt. That one is proven gains.

I have the Fox Lake P-51, and I absolutly love it. It cost a lot of money, but I was fortunate enough to find someone selling it for 360$. It was a pain to install, because i didnt really have the instructions haha. But the gains have been decent. I thing it was about a 20 hp gain, and like 15 toruqe. The only real problem is that it doesnt fit under the stock hood, we had to cut it up a little bit. Plus you'll need aftermarket fuel rails. It was a steal, plus it looks B.A. under the hood.
