brenspeed or bama chips?

I think he either thought you wanted dyno tuning thus needed the appointment or he just wanted to make sure he wouldn't be tuning someone or not there. Tuners have odd hours since they are always doing dyno days, shows, races, etc.

I've been reading this whole post and saw that some of you recommended VMP....seems like the guy isn't all that interested in you going to his shop to buy things, he places an emphasis on not just showing up to buy things.

"VMP HAS MOVED!, however, we are still in the same general area, if you wish to come in, contact us to make an appointment.'"

He wants an appt. made...LMAO, what is he a doctor? I wish I could run my business that way....

...I figured that since his shop is close that Id go buy a tuner from him and ask a few questions before I dropped 400.00 bucks....but it seems as though he just wants me to drop 400.00 bucks online, and not be bothered with me stopping by at my leisure to buy it in person, unless of course I make an appointment.

....Has anyone actually dealt with this guy? Is he a dick? Is he just too busy to be bothered?

That's pretty rude to post, did you think I would not see the post?

Apparently you missed the other part of the website, you are more than welcome to come by and talk to me, I just need to know when you are coming over. I am also at 12-15 local events every year with my mobile dynojet and travel all over the southeast with it.

I specialize in custom tuning and sell a ton of related parts, but I don't have a storefront (on purpose) and since I am the sole owner and employee I do everything. I'm not always in the office or shop.

Not

Hey Justin, I didn't mean to be rude.

I had no thought of whether you would see the post or not. I just thought the whole thing was a bit strange. I just assumed you were a larger operation and you didn't seem to want to deal with the public....

I guess that is just the tone I took from the website....Sorry I offended you, I didn't intend to. After reading my post again, I see what you mean.... I look forward to meeting you....face to face, this is the very reason I hate e-commerce, it lacks the nuance that language conveys. I thought your website made you sound too busy or to important to be bothered with customers unless they wanted a dyno tune, now I see its because you are a one man show....You thought my take was rude....neither one of us meant to convey that sentiment.

Again, I apologize. Hopefully we will get off to a better start when we actually meet.

I would also go with Bama chips for the tune but one thing I would recommend for anyone getting a mail order tune if you have had your car serviced by Ford check and make sure they didn't upgrade the computer before you load the new tune. Have Doug tell you what the strategy code should be for your computer code and read it from the tuner to check that it's the same before you do anything else.

If you load a tune file with the wrong strategy the computer is locked up and you will have to tow the car to Ford, unless Doug can get it working. This has happened to several people in the past.
