i shipped a car from Long Island, NY to South Padre Island, TX back in 2007 and it was totally fine, my only complaint was that the driver left the interior light on while the car was on the trailer and the battery was dead upon arrival, which sparked a pissed off, but not well thought out call from the buyer

find a reputable, insured company and there shouldn't be a problem :nice:

+ 1 for reputable insured company. Some problems I have heard people encounter: Burned clutches (happens when they drive the car up to the top deck), fluid leaks on car on the bottom deck. Dad's car had a few drips of tranny fluid land on the hood that he did not notice right away (tranny fluid is not friendly to the paint.
Do a good check out upon arrival in case there was a problem.

I had a car shipped to hawaii when I was stationed there then shipped a mustang back when I returned. the car I shipped as a 99 civic si with a lot of mods. they chipped the paint pretty bad on the rear bumper. they said I didnt tell them it was lowered but when I asked the manager to look at it he said, "what f'n retard cant see that is lowered?" they insured it for the repairs pretty quick.

the mustang came back just fun but when they brought the car to the front from the shipping yard the moron chick couldnt drive a stick and thought it would be funny to turn off the car by just letting the clutch go in first gear with the barke on. Bumped the concrete blocked she parked infront of. Didn't do any damage but when she came out laughing I tore into her and her manager for hiring a retard. they werent happy and she was crying. If they are insured then there wont be any issues.
