Mach 460 CD Slave Unit Needed: Will any 94-98 CD deck work?

I want to put the Mach 460 CD slave unit in my 94 GT (with Mach 460 radio/cassette).

After viewing dozens of CD slave decks on eBay, they all look the same, but none say they work with the Mach system.

Is there a difference? Can I get the wrong deck IF I make sure it is from a 94-98 stang?

A local salvage yard can get me the CD slave unit, wiring harness, and whatever else, but the CD unit itself is $100. There are too many CD decks on eBay for under $40 to ignore that savings.

(My problem is that I have no idea what a non-Mach system looked like in 94-98, so I don't know if a separate CD slave unit was used.)

Thanks.

No expert and not 100% sure, but I have a 98 up radio and CD player in my 94, works no problem. I believe you have to go with the radio and CD player from the same year, 98 - 00 ( I believe). I went with a new radio because I have gauges where the clock went and the newer radios have a clock in it, plus my CD player stopped working. The non mach radios have a dummy plug on the back, but look the same to me. I'm "pretty" sure all the 94-97's radios will work?

Thanks.

I've got the radio/cassette deck for the Mach 460. It's the seperate CD unit I'm speaking about. I'm guessing that this same unit or one similare to it, was also used in non-Mach stereos from 94-98.

My understanding is that all Mach systems are the same between 1994 and 1998. The wiring and head unit changed in 99 and up, so they are not campatible.

Most likely I'll just hit up a junkyard and pull the CD slave deck and wiring harness out of a wrecked stang.
