Hi everyone. I checked around and couldn't find an exact answer. I have a 2k mustang gt and my timing chain went and bent valves last week etc...Mech. said prob better to get another engine than to repair. I was searching around and found a mach 1 engine that costs a few dollars more than a gt. With a complete motor is it a simple pull and replace or are there any extras needed to bolt the engine in and get it started? Will the transmission bolt up to it with no problems? Should I stick with the gt motor or mach 1 better choice? I did some quick searches and couldn't find much. Thanks in advanced for any input. :nice:

now it's #24079158275480578 million times lol I agree I could and would have rather search harder but I don't have that amount of time/money. thanks for the advice everyone. pc:SNSign:

here ya go:
2V to 4V Swap Article

as far as engine swaps go it looks pretty d@mn straight forward...I was all set to do it, but stumbled across a brand new, 0 mile, totally complete 04 Mustang 16v valve engine and went that way instead...

but anyway, seems like anybody with a place to work on it and any kind of mechanical experience should be able to handle putting a 32v in a GT

do the swap man. the harness changes are minimal and you'll need a tune. but THAT IS IT!!!!!!.

no biggie. the mach is a killer motor.

would you rather make 225rwhp or 290rwhp for a few bucks more? thats the real question.

No need for the mach ecu, you can use your gt ecu and a sct tune.

The mach wiring harness is a plus because you will use your wiring harness but need to add some new connectors and lengthen some as well.

Over all it a simple as hell swap, I did it by myself in the garage. Started pulling the 2v out friday night after work, saturday got the new mach motor in and everything bolted up, sunday fixed the wiring harness and started her up, monday drove her to the tuner and made 310 hp!

And the 3650 gt trans is a direct bolt up, don't know about the t45.

is the 3650 that you mentioned the automatic in a 2v 2k mustang gt? i have been thinking about doing the same swap, i have a 2k gt with the at tranny and i would like to keep it auto with a 4v motor:nice:
