How to tell if someone put too large injectors into a stock 5.0???

I just had an idea.......could it be the temp sensor??
Not the one that sends signals to the gauge, but the one that impacts timing, air fuel mixtures etc.

Just a thought....anyone ever had one of these go TU?

My car reeked of unburnt gas when my ECT sensor went bad. I replaced it and got better gas mileage and lost most of the rich smell. For less than $30, try it. The ECT is notorious for going bad anyway.

From what I've read it makes no difference where you set the F/P on these cars because the computer will compensate and basically nullify the adjustment.

No, if that was the case, why are there adjustable fuel pressure regulators? I'm not actually looking for an answer.

Slick.... any change with fresh plugs???

I was curious if it was way rich. Black wet looking plugs...I take it they look Brown/Tan.

Does the car appear to skip or fall on its face under power?? or is your problem related to idle only??

You'll get an answer anyway :D

They make the adjustable units because the computer can be programmed via chip to stop compensating for any pressure adjustments, giving you complete control. On Foxes, i don't believe the computer would compensate for FPR adjustments.

I was told by Tony at HP-Performance when he tuned my car that the adjustable FPR was useless and that I could have saved myself 120 bucks by not buying it.

furthermore, with some kind of tuning, you can achieve any pressure you want without the aid of a regulator.

The plugs looked good....worn out, brownish electrode showing normal wear. It was not soobing in fuel. I pulled some Autolite platinum and put in NGK V-power.

I going to be changing out my coolant temp sensor and prob put in a new thermostat. I will see if that maybe causing some issues. It is obvious to me that
this car was not well maintained.

Well....one good thing to look forward to is everything I do to this car will be done and over with. No more second guessing if it had ever been done in the past.

I believe this statement is incorrect, fuel pressure is not controlled by the computer it is vacuum/boost based.

He told you it was worthless because with tuning you can achieve any A/F ratio you want given the correct injectors at stock pressures.

With adjustable fuel pressure regulators you can run more pressure to make your injectors act bigger than they actually are and with tuning you can achieve your desired a/f ratio, but again the pressure is set the point you want and it adjusts via vacuum/boost.
