Hey guys i have a 98gt. The only thing that i have done to it is just straight pipes going back into flows and then dumped down. Now i finally have some cash to put into her but was needing some help on what you suggest. i was lookin into an offroad h pipe, headers, gears (possibly 3:73 or 3:90 i have the 3:27 gears now). Was wondering what you guys would do if you were in my situation. Thanks

3.73's are a good DD gear, the 3.90's are catching on too. A good free flowing exhaust w/ LT's, midpipe and catback would also be a great round of mods. Also look into subframe connectors and a short shifter

you cant do a complete pi swap with only two grand. trust me it cost me closer to 3. just get some long tubes, off road x/h or catted and use your existing flos. i had 3:73s on my 00 gt and they were great over stock. i just bought a bbk lt and x pipe package from texas hot rods for 589 bucks with free shipping ( they are on a slight back order tho).

Agreed, thats outrageous
it cost me a little over 3k, i didnt get ripped off i just got the best stuff that i could. i got the trick flow high flow intake manifold, that was almost half of the money right there, and i got the heads port and polished. i didnt want to get that crappy plastic pi intake. i had to get my computer tuned too. but why even upgrade if your only gonna get baseline performance from your parts. trust me its well worth spending the money like i did.

Although what you did is sick, it's far from a simple p.I. swap that should run you a good amount under 1k, and it makes for a huge improvement over stock npi.

This might be a dumb question but when looking for a pi swap what all does that include?? i am not very good w/ tech things on cars.
Am i lookin for the heads and cam or just one or the other?? What is a good price to be lookin for and what does something like that cost to install? Thanks guys

you paid and arm and a leg for marginal peformance. . Did my first PI headswap in 2001 for $1300, labor included. You got hosed on the intake and porting cost. The stock PI intake is outsanding for NA cars in the 300rwhp range. It flows fine, doesn't get heak soaked.
As for you THR Parts, you won't get them. They are taking everybody right now, they are going out of business, or what it looks like. Many people are still waiting for 6 months for their parts, and don't get replies or they say they are on backorder. BTW, the bbk headers are not on backorder right now, I just checked with a local bbk dist.
