65 Stock versus repro hood

How can I tell the difference between a stock oem and a repro aftermarket hood?

Because I want to buy one and not get ripped off

A: The box.

The repro one comes in a box from the Kung Chong Stamping plant (or something similar) in China.

The OE replacement comes in a box from somebody in the United States.

The really good NOS OE replacement comes in a box that says "Genuine Ford" on it. These are the hardest to find but they actually fit.
