I have some 03/04 cobra front lower control arms, bullitt springs, bullitt struts, and want to also add some rack bushings.

The springs have been on the car for a year or two with some old 5ways and I plan to install the bullitt struts/cobra arms in the next few weeks as it gets warmer. For all those out there who is running the offset rack bushings and who is running the std bushings? I think I want the std but just want to double check if someone wishes they went to the offset ones.

This is not a really off the wall combo so I hope there are some that are running this type of setup.

Are you considering solid bushings?

Otherwise, offset poly bushings don't necessarily do too hot, nor should you need them with your mild drop.

If you change your mind down the line, it takes about 15 mins to swap rack bushings alone.

Good luck.

Poly is what I will be doing, not solid. I have heard solids are a little too harsh. I did not think offset would be the way to go with the .5-.75 drop but I have not heard much either way.

I am hopeful to get a firm yet not overly rough ride/handling out of the setup. Right now the stock front is sloppy as it is except for the springs wore out.

I have the MM solid rack bushings (standard) and they're not harsh at all.

You should notice a good bit of difference in your front suspension with that list of parts, especially if you have old stock bushings in place.

I'd recommend to anyone that you get your engine mounts replaced, if you really want the front end to be smooth (not harsh). I used the FRPP convertible mounts (rubber) since they are supposed to be "heavy duty" and possibly a little longer. This is not necessarily an easy swap, but makes a big noticable difference compared to worn out stockers.

Good point on the motor mounts I was debating on the energy susp. ones but if the vert ones are a good option that is good to know. I could stand to replace the mounts as well. I have noticed some shaking from the movement I am getting in my wore out stock mounts.

So the solid rack bushings are not that bad. My goal is a well rounded ride and some ability to handle some turns and go straight. Not expecting top notch autoX or 1.2 60fts but would love to have a more solid corner carver than stock and be able to pull a 1.7 on some 315 Nitto DR or a 1.6 on some MT DR/ET streets. My rear is UPR u/l arms and bullit springs/shocks

Right now when I hit a bump or rutted out road it is all over the place from the slop.

The solid rack bushings won't be a problem at all.

The ride conditions you just mentioned that you want to cure......I'd look at the following:

Alignment
Tire pressure
Steering shaft (replace with something like the MM solid one, as the rag joint could be worn).
Steering rack (in good condition? When I replace mine, it will be with an 04 Cobra unit that is beefier and much tighter (no comfort loss, just better internal parts))

When you put the suspension parts on that you have now, the overall ride should improve. Just depends on how much improvement you want and where. Unfortunately, $$$ is needed as these cars get old, but the new parts should last many years and miles.

I will be getting new front tires and an align. as well forgot to mention that. The shaft I was not aware of...will have to look into that.

The 03-04 rack is that something that could be "rebuilt" into the stocker? I am thinking about rebuilding mine...if its cost effective that it. Otherwise, I will hold out for a new one. I was not aware the newer ones were that much different.
