I can't beleave there is no chatter about our warrenties. I'd like to here from somone that has tried to get Saleen to warrenty something after the "purchase" by MJ.
Im guessing, if you even talk to anyone, there is NO warrenty by the new company.

Hi there!

I think Jess at Saleen is still doing Customer Service. You can pose your warranty questions to him.

As an FYI: Jess posts on the SOEC webforums, if you rather not call. Go --> HERE

Just post a similar message and he should turn-up.

From my understandings the handling Saleen Vehicle warranty claims was part of the MJ purchase. No worries, for the most part.

I don't think there's an issue, so maybe that's why the chatter is low.

Good luck!

As my good friend davidj alluded to, and as specified in our announcement of the sale (copy below, see 2nd to last paragraph), the first people the new owners hired from the old company were warranty, tech and dealer support.

Basically, your dealer needs to proceed as usual.

After announcing it was looking for a buyer in early November, Saleen Incorporated announced today that MJ Acquistions has acquired certain assets of America’s premier automotive lifestyle brand, relating to Saleen’s supercharger, aftermarket and high performance street vehicle businesses.

The transaction reportedly was finalized last Friday, which left all of the employees (including Saleen Inc. CEO Chris Theodore) with the legal formality of being without jobs -- at least temporarily. Some hirebacks have already taken place as the transition progresses.

While the terms of the deal were not disclosed, the purchase does not include the assets associated with the supercar (S7 or S5 Raptor vehicles) or the paint operations, which will remain with Saleen Incorporated.

The ownership of MJ Acquisitions controls a family of companies which provide full service engineering, design, manufacturing, assembly and control systems for the automotive industry. It's affiliated companies include Cyltec, LLC, Power-Tec Engineering, LLC, Arrow Racing Engines, LLC, and Control-Tec, LLC.

"MJ Acquisitions and its affiliates are a group of true car professionals with vast experience in the engineering, production, assembly and distribution of performance and racing vehicles" said Theodore in a press release. "This influx of new life into the Saleen, RaceCraft and SpeedLab brands is a win-win situation."

Theodore noted loyal Saleen customers, dealers and enthusiasts can look forward to an exciting transition period.

"We moved on this purchase quickly to ensure that the process of delivering high-quality automobiles and components to the consumers is not disrupted," said Mike Shields, President and CEO of MJ Acquisitions. "We are working with the talented team from Saleen and our own experts to continue the quality, delivery, and performance the customer base and dealership network have come to expect from the Saleen brand. I am particularly excited about Saleen's supercharger experience and its synergies with Power-Tec's development of the next generation of superchargers."

Immediate plans are to roll out the 2010 version of the newly designed Mustang for the Racecraft brand and commence other Racecraft designs for additional vehicles. The new Mustang is shipping from Ford later this month. Additionally, the Saleen brand will have a new design of the flagship S-Line that is already in the works and scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2009.

While this announcement may provide more questions than answers for some, Saleen owners should be assured that key warranty and sales staff are still at the company to serve dealers and owners, with more hirebacks likely coming in the days ahead.

MJ Acquistions does plan to work with the dealer network and others to establish the future product line. A company spokesperson told SOEC that more announcements will be forthcoming, so stay tuned.

Ask Jess to get somthing Warrentied. He sounds like a great guy with his hands tied.
I shouldn't be the one to break it to you,you can find out yourself. I was told to contact the old owners of Saleen to get anything warrentied (and noone could put me in contact with them) The new purchase did not include warrenty "MJ is NOT responsible for you cars warrenty"I was told with a heart felt good luck.

Im not the guy to start Crap. IM just consurned. My family owns a few SALEENs we are big fans of the cars, and im trying not to make a big deal and allow them to sort out the issues but am I the only one with an Issue?
.
If I am wrong proove it, and I'll go away. But Im not taking the word of a press release that was a week attemt at damage control.

Who said this to you?

Im not trying to get anyone fired. Im sure they are scared enough and lucky to still have a job.
Call yourself, let me know if you get a different answer.I hope you do. The key is to ask to have somthing warrentied. Good luck.

Are you a dealer? If not, why would you call and ask for something to be warrantied?

Additionally, a week and a half ago, I had no problems getting warranty work done on my 2007 Saleen.

I understand that you say you dont want to get anyone fired, but in the next breath you say "just call and ask." If we are going to get the same information as you did from the same person, then why not just post who 'allegedly' said this to you?

Owners should not necessarily be contacting Saleen for warranty claims -- this has never been the formal process all along, though some Saleen staffers, especially Jess, have assisted above and beyond the call of duty during difficult times for owners.

And yes, there has been a bit of a transition period between "Saleen Inc." and "MJ Acquisitions" in the past month since the transfer of certain Saleen Inc. assets.

Currently, if dealers have any questions, they should instead contact 248-743-4800 concerning warranty claims.

Clearly wrong.

Perhaps Dave will cover the cost of repairs to those who "waited until the snow was off the ground" before taking their Saleen in for service, and are now SOL because they acted as if what he posted was fact.

Wrong.

Misinformation is "business as usual".

Saleen Mike always cracks me up with his friendliness. :nice:

I can only say so much, but I can probably say the unfortunate reality is that the situation changed -- it was supposed to be business as usual, and that's the deal for which MJ negotiated.

And since it was business as usual, for a while, the guys at MJ were acting with good intentions by giving the green light on warranty repairs until it became clear that the deal wasn't what it was purported to be.

In time more will certainly become public, but it likely won't change the fact that owners with warranties are out of luck unless they get some concessions from dealers. At least MJ has stated today they will be at least willing to sell affected parts at a discount to make it easier on the dealers and the owners.

Naw'. I posted that on 02/21/09 and it's only 03/06/09. Enough time to save the error. Though yes... from earlier news I was under the impression that everything was going well. People where having their issues/repairs dealt with etc. I was seeing it, I was hearing it. Why would I think anything else.

It's a twisted web of business.

Off-topic... but I can't believe you're still upset over the saleenregistry.com domain. Really... most of your discourse and this basic ill-will goes back to that. It's truly unfortunate the circumstances can't be different.

In the end, I don't matter... you've eluded to that... lets run with this scenario and be best-of-friends.

You buy the cake, I'll buy the ice cream. :nice:

Wrong.

Naw'... You're early marketing of SCOA, getting the banner signed, changing the SOEC link on a popular information website... having to print retractions and disclaimers for innuendo and misleading wording. Though I'm flattered with mark "Misinformation"... you give/gave new definition to the term in the Saleen Hobby.

I'm still bringing the ice cream though.

Jim,

Let me start out by posting some facts.
1> Both you and Dave do not work for Saleen Inc.
2> Both you and Dave do not work for "MJ".
3> Both you and Dave do not work for HPA.
4> Both you and Dave do not work at a "Saleen Dealer".
5> Both you and Dave do not own a Saleen, so there is no first-hand ownership knowledge.

Right so far?

Please let me continue.

6> Both you and Dave posted that "the terms of the deal were not disclosed".

Moving right along...
7> Both you and Dave are "admins" over at "you know where".
8> Posts were made regarding this issue there, and the "admins" deleted the posts.
9> There was a "Ask Saleen" forum, and it was removed as well.

Nothing funny about my post so far. Friendly  Factual? Yes.

People may have not taken their cars/trucks in for service thinking they had no worries based on the content of "that other site" that was edited by you and/or Dave. Those people are now "out of luck" as you say.

Does that crack you up?

Naw'... You're early marketing of SCOA, getting the banner signed.

What are you talking about?

I have moved on, and you are quite wrong.

Glad you got your car fixed, hope you don't have any future problems. No, Im not a dealer. My Dealer couldn't get through to Saleen so as a consernet customer I called myself. If I don't say a mans name they cant prove who said it. Why do you need a name anyway, you trying to get somone fired there.
Look, I started this threed. and I was dead on all along. Im pissed off. you and all Saleen owners should be too.
Want to buy a Saleen, 10k miles, mint condition. Oh one thing, NO WARRENTY.
