project 91GT

Its cool, i don't go through every page of everyone else's build and read everything. Yes its mainly built for show, but trust me it will still have plenty of go. Just not going to be built as a drag car. It will be a street/ show car. we don't need any piss in cherios:rlaugh: its all good

I just didn't think my question was that out of line?

The truth is, if they see a cage whether the car runs 18s or 8s, if it doesn't pass tech, some tracks wont even let you run. Basically whether needed or not, if you have the safety equipment, it needs to be legal. I'm not posting ANY of this to be a dick to you, just things I know from my years of racing and dealing with the tech guys at the track.

I know this isn't a drag car, I'm just curious if they will even let it go down the track? I sure hope they do, there is nothing better than a car that looks good and runs hard at the same time!

Keep the pics coming, awesome build!

All the talk about the cage passing spec im not to concerned with it because its different and its not a race car. i just want somthing different that the next guy does't have and the comment about the tubes in front not holding up , it will work and hold up just fine . Thanks for all comments good or bad I enjoy reading them keep them comimg :flag::D

I have been real happy with the way this car is coming out. The coolest part of the cage i think, is the x in the rear. I was wondering if you guys could help me out?? I want to know, if you would see this car at a car show and looked at the cage, mainly the x, would you know which bar was cut? Looking the this picture can you tell which one is notched so they lay together?? The front or rear bar??

update- the underside of the car got scuffed and cleaned up this past week. Today we got a little primer on the bottom of the car. All the bare metal is in primer, next up we got to put down a little seam sealer, then work on getting the cage painted. Here are some pics of the bottom of the car all cleaned up and some primered pictures.

insparation to us all. i hope one day i can have a fox with all this stuff thought out. great build. make sure we get to see the finished product.

Thanks man. comments like yours are inspiration to us to get this thing done. Its still a ways from being done, but it feels like we are actually making some progress now. I will keep posting updated pics till the day we get it finished. Thanks :nice:

We got the seam sealer on yesterday. Put on a whole quart of seam sealer. I will tell you, that stuff stinks, and the smell doesn't go away. I went by tonight to take some pictures and it still stinks. Glad its done. Next up, going to put everything in a high build primer, then get the cage painted. Getting close to going back to work on the engine bay. Here are some pics of the seam sealer :flag:

All I can say is you have a gift. Your work and I mean work and skill is very impressive.

Thanks alot man

what are you plans as far as the interior quarter panels and those wheel tubs?

They are going to get cut out to fit over the tubs. The tubs will be carpeted. I would like to try to cut the quarter plastics, and use some plastic and fiberglass to make extend them over the tubs to achieve a factory panel look. I think that would be cool. Thats kinda the look we are going for, make it look like a factory race car :nice:

Man you do nice work! Keep it comming, this is a great project. The door bars look great the way you have them positioned. Even though they may not be legal on the strip for some classes, the flow looks perfect for show car purposes. Also, nice screwdriver, I have the same one.
