Supporting Parts for Vortech?

  • Sponsors (?)

Sorry i worded that weird, yes they do price match. They call it beat a price.

Summit- "We're confident our prices are the lowest. We're so confident, we offer the Beat-a-Price guarantee: We’ll beat any advertised price on an in-stock product, with proof of the advertised price, if the part is in stock at the advertised location. Call 1-800-230-3030 and speak with a salesperson to help complete your order. "

If you don't mind me asking, where did you find this tuner kit? Were the prices decent? I would love to eliminate the FMU, T-rex, and MSD BTM because I won't be using any of it.

you can use the msd BTM and just leave it at 0.. it then has the same features as 6AL... Then you could also pull some timing on a super hot day just to be safe too

Hey thanks,
I haven't checked this in awhile. So, is the Vortech/MSD BTM similiar to the MSD 6A or 6AL? I thought all it did was pull timing when the boost increases. Does it also generate greater spark like the 6A/6AL? I don't suppose it has the rev limiting feature of the 6AL? It sure would be nice to save that $200 on a 6AL if I get the Vortech kit.

From everything I've read about the Vortech BTM is that it does nothing to amplify spark as do the MSD 6a 6al. It only pulls timing during high boost. I think I'm going to get the 6al and sell the vortech btm since I'm getting a tune. I don't think my stock ignition will handle the v1 s-trim.

Thanks, I've never drove or ridden in a stang with a centri blower. I'm really pessimistic about dyno numbers and I never expect anything too high. I think conservatively I'll make 350-360ish to the wheels. Maybe 380 on the high end but it's all a guess. So far I bought the lightning maf and walbro high pressure in-tank. I just put in a fidanza 2.1 clutch, so I'll have to break that in a little before I install the charger. That clutch will take a bit to get used to. I stalled it the first time I drove it because the clutch is so grabby. I love it so far though, after I got used to it. It seems like a great clutch.

Well thanks again guys. I'll let you all know how it goes.
