Cobra intake and injectors in GT

I have a 94 GT and I just got a complete intake from a Cobra, including injectors, fuel rail, TB and an 80mm ProM tuned mass air. My question is, do I need the Cobra ECU for this to run right? I have seen people say as long as the MAF is tuned for the injectors it'll be ok, but others say you need the Cobra ECU. Also, if I get the cobra ECU without having the GT-40 heads will it have a problem there? Just trying to get my ducks in a row before i tear into things. Thanks

Straight bolt on man! As long as your maf and injectors match your good. You dont need the 24lb injectors your 19's will be fine.

Dont bother with the Cobra ECU it's not needed.

Its a nice upgrade you will see a nice little SOTP feel with just swaping the intake.

i dont think a cobra would need a 24lb cal'd maf.... i think its done in the ecu already... so with the 24cal'd i think your fine

Correct, 94-95 Cobra's use the same 19lb MAF as the GT AND V6. The Cobra ECU compensates for the difference. One more cost savings for Ford - one MAF to stock for two model years.

Several things to think about here

First things first :)

"Some People" ... are just mis-informed :(

Ford OEM meters are not calibrated for ANY particular size injector :nono:

That means the GT meter is not caled for 19's
and
The Cobra meter is not caled for 24's

Case in point ... I ran that little OEM meter with 30's for quite a while

And Yes ... The exact same meter is used in both GT & Cobra

Who knows how that ProM meter is setup
but
If it is caled for 19's

Well ... Consider this reasoning

An aftermarket meter with a 19# cal is like a screendoor on a submarine

It just don't make sense :nono:

The GT/Cobra OEM meter is gonna be ..........
more than adequate
more accurate in most cases

You need to be moving more air ... a good bit more air ... before the need
for a meter arises

If truth be told ... you will run out of injector
before
You run out of meter

Same kind of deal goes for the throttle body ;)

The stocker will carry you pretty far before upgrading becomes efficient

Missinformed i dont think so, I think yall need to read what he said its a Pro-m meter caled for 24's. Yes I understood what he ment because you dont tune a Maf.

I told him that he didn't need to run 24's but he wants to, so please tell me why not use the meter when it is set up for 24's?

And yes to answer your question everything you have will work with no problems.

Now ... Now ... Now :)

No need to be defensive

Nobody was directing anything negative in your direction :nono:

I was refering to the original post Mr. humphrey111 posted

He said ... "I have seen people say"
and
That is the group of peeps who I feel are mis-informed

Ask me how I know

Why not share your knowledge with the rest of us :nice:

Sorry Gardy,:nice: I thought that was directed at me like I was giving fasle info.

I ran almot the same set up except it was with a Pro-m 77mm I belive it was with 24lb injectors and it ran just fine maybe a little rich but it did fine
