I need it to see how is the a/c bracketery made, I want to relocate my alternator using the a/c top bracket, and before I do a junkyard trip, I would like to see if its doable..
I don't think it would be very easy using the AC bracket. It is rather specific to the AC compressor.
There was a bracket on some ranger 2.3s that located the alternator in that same location. It isn't so common and you'll probably have to search on turboford to figure out what years it came on.
evintho did it with a 89 ac bracket, and I have few pictures of his setup, but i wanted to look at the stock setup first, to see if every part he used was on the ac setup or he custum made some stuff.
Keasbey,
Resurrecting this thread, I'm a bit late. I was just scrolling through Stangnet and saw your post. I don't know if I answered you on another board or not. Anyhow, here's a pic of my Mustang during teardown. Note the silver upper A/C bracket...........................
The bottom bracket is a custom fabbed piece......................
I also used a length of 1/4" bar stock as a stifening bracket behind the A/C mount. I had to space the A/C bracket out 1-1/2" with a couple of aluminum spacers to get everything to line up...........................
