rim fitment question 17x9.5 275/40/17

I used Wilwood rear discs. No spacer and nothing clamps onto the axle housing. A real clean set up.

I am using Global West Delalum bushings front and rear. I am very happy with the setup. The solid bushings prevent body roll so I don't need a sway bar and the Flex-a-form springs ride smooth but still control the rear nicely. No wheel hop.

Does anyone have any idea why he sells the kits without the spacer for the rear? Looks like the rotor will hit the bracket without the spacer

It appears to me that he now offers a kit for standard backspacing of rims.

Compared to the ones with the spacer for use with SN95 wheels.

Hope this helps you.

I am running a G-bar and 315/35/17's in the back of my '67. The wheels are 11" wide with 6.5" of backspacing. It's going to require a bit of clearancing on the inner wheel house, but not what I would call a mini-tub. /QUOTE]

Do you have any pics of your rear setup with those wheels and tires?
What brand of tires are you running?
What are you running for rear dics brakes?
David.

It does help, but it looks like the fronts still need the spacers? would hate to have a miss matched set of brakes.

I ordered the MB wheel rims, should be here Friday. Hope to have pictures posted next weekend. I got confirmation from Discount Tire that the backspace is 5.48". So they should fit.

These are the only pics I have so far, and the wheels aren't mounted yet. I've since gotten the tires mounted and fit them, while it's close, they are going to fit.

I'm running BFG Drag Radials and AR Hopsters. I am running the ford explorer kit from Ford Racing, just as a point of reference the 9" has been shortened as well.

Discounttiredirect.com is the only distributor of the wheel. Here's a picture in gunmetal, I'm looking at the chrome version, but their website is down right now for some reason.

I just ordered a set of Coys C-55's for my '65. If I didn't know better I'd say that was a picture of the Coys wheel. They look identical...right down to the oval indent in the center cap for the logo. Makes me wonder if they're off the same mold and just being sold under two different brands. They're priced just about the same too.

If you're needing the deeper backspace you might try giving Coys a call. Even though it's not listed on the Coys website, you can get C-55's in 17x8 with 4 3/4" backspace. That's what I ordered for the rear of my '65. Coys is running a special on the C-55's right now. I got mine with tires and lug nuts for $1000 including shipping. I ordered 17x7's with 215/45/17 Hankook's for the front and 17x8's with 245/45/17 for the rear.

i installed the wheels and tires today. I'm not having any rubbing issues because of the hieght of the car right now. I will have to roll the rear fenders for sure. I'm also thinking about getting the rear rims milled on the back side so they sit in 1/4in. There's room to take some metal off, not sure if that is a good idea though.
