I have a 91 mustang 2.3 and tuesday night, I was driving and I started to slow down and the car died on me. I got the car towed and looked at it and I discovered the belt was loose then changed it and saw all the grooves were ate off. I replaced it. Ive replaced this belt "atleast" 5 times on other 2.3l never had a problem. Car wont start. I have takin this belt on and off ten to twelve times The timing marks are one hundred percent dead on!! But still wont run Is there something else that could have happened here that im not looking at? thanks for any advice.

Hi,

Im glad you fixed the problem! How did you find out the issue? using a OBD 1 scanner?

well i tried the scanner but i let me battery run dead and and when i ran the scanner the only code it would pull was it noticed the battery had been disconnected...so I could smell gas while I would try to crank it so I checked spark none....so I checked the coil packs..good! checked the ignition module bad! theres my problem! Wrong... then I found out if the crank shaft sensor is broke you wont get fire so I replaced it with one from the junk yard.....the reason it broke in the first place is because i was trying to get the thing behind the crank pulley off and my dad was hitting it with a hammer and bent it so when the crank spun it would break the sensor.....so when I changed the sensor and the car didnt start I was stumped and a little adjitated lol so I let the car sit for a day or two came back to it and decided to check the sensor again and thats when i realized the bent peice..and went to the junkyard piced up another sensor and balancer thing and she fired right up!!! the car was down a total of 2 weeks well I think it took that long because i had another car to drive if i was out a car then I would think it wouldve been fixed sooner lol Id hope.........sorry for such a long as reply haha:jaw:
