Hi, so I have my 347 engine home and am slowly getting it back together, they mentioned that I would need a bearing, that goes in the end of the crankshaft, towards the back close to the transmission. Apparently if you get it together without the bearing it will work but will just make noise, I am trying to look up what I need to order, and I don't really know what I am looking for, I will call my shop tomorrow to find out, unless someone on here knows what I'm talking about?

Those things are a pain to get out if you ever got a take one out, I tried everything I could think of and ended up having to buy Napa's dumb special tool for 90 bucks :nonono:

Why didnt you just use any parts store's loaner tool program. When i did mine it cost me $40 for a deposit on the pilot bearing tool and a slide hammer. Back on topic, when you install the pilot bearing use a big socket and hammer it in evenly.
