If I can get my car sold tmrw I am looking to buy a 2001 GT thats mineral grey 5spd premium and only has 58k on the clock. They are asking 9800 bucks and it looks great minus a small hole in the front bumper cover. I this a good deal or should I try and talk them down? Also where would be a cheap place to pick up an 03 style cobra bumper to replace the broken one if I decide to buy? God I hope I can get back in the Mustang club again ! :)

First thing I would check would be the tranny. If its the 3650 make sure they did the TSB fix for it. Price wise I would talk them down. Around me there are a few 2003-2004 GT's with less miles and no holes in the bumpers going for about 13k.

I for sure am going to check out the tranny...it's a 600 mile drive to go look at the car. Price wise I can't find anything else...these cars are not common at all in Alaska so I have to pay a slight premium. Can you give me more info on the TSB? Assuming it hasn't been done and is out of warranty can it still get done for free? Can I just call the dealer with the vin and find out if it was done?

Found the information on the TSB I had forgotten about that one. I will check into it. Owner says the car shifts perfect and has never had any issues. My gues is the previous owner before him had it done. Either way I will try and find out. Hell, it may have a t45

Prices seems a little high, but considering where you are, then thats alright. It very well might have a t45 in it, I know in 01 there were some that got the t45, but most got the 3650:nice: Best of luck, sounds like a good car:flag:

I would say that is high also. I would not pay more than $8500, you might be able to find one in the lower 48 and have it shipped there for $9,800. Also is the car stock? I would only pay $8500 if it was in perfect condition with the exact mods I wanted the car to have or not have. I paid 10.5k for mine 2 and 1/2 years ago with 38k on the odo. Granted it had one dent in the driver's door but it was the best deal I could find at the time.

LOL In Alaska you can't touch a 97 or 98 with under 100k un modded for less than 6500 or so. And shipping up here is around 2700 bucks and that's not counting a plane ticket to go check the car out first ;) I am just going to bite the bullet and go for it. I don't plan to sell it ANY time soon so I will be fine :)
