Got myself a new toy for the car. Looks nice and works pretty good with the ipod (all the songs appear on the screen). Install was fairly easy, the hardest part was getting the amps to turn on. Now i need a sub haha, the stock mach headunit made the speakers sound like they had more bass. I ran the ipod cord through the middle console and out of the old power source in the armrest. Did not have to cut anything and looks nice too (IMO).

haha me either, this is the only aftermarket radio ive ever put in any of my cars. The radio around here stinks and the monster cable ipod adapter wasnt working that well. I kept getting static through it.

where did you buy that plastic bracket? i just istalled the pioneer avic-d3 in my car, but the bracket that was included didn't fit, so there's some metal showing.
The headunit is a double din so I used the metra 95-5026 dash kit that i purchased off amazon. The avic d-3 is also s double din so you would use the same kit.
How much was that head unit?
Just a bit over 500 off amazon also

Ah, the DDX712...good choice. I have the DDX512 in my car currently, with the separate Bluetooth module. I've got the DNX6140 (their 2009 model with nav and BT built in) waiting to go into the car...whenever I get the car back.

I'm not much of an audiophile either but the system's just too cool to pass up.

The headunit does not come with navigation but could be added as an attachment. It has plugs for it in the back of the headunit. I didn't purchase that yet, but I thought about it and could always add it in the future.
