DIY Rear Seat Delete Kit

  • Sponsors (?)

There's a few DIYer's out there.. a few audio system guys used the space for some real nice installs as well.

some are more primitive than others. Seen some poor attempts - like this one..Not sure why people don't stick to a plan and make sure it comes out mint..

I've thought about a rear seat delete, but I still take my 7 year old son with me in the car and the back is safer:nice: Perhaps, I can make one and have it fairly easy to remove/reinstall ( for shows) as it only takes about 2-3 minutes to get the seats out...two clips that hold the seat bottom down and one outside bolt for each seat back and then they just slide off the center bracket:nice:

The rear seat is like 41lbs.
I took quite a bit of stuff out of my car last year and weighed them all and here were the results...my back seats were nowhere near 41lbs!!!!!

Trunk liner(single piece with the "board" attatched covering the spare)=6.6 lbs
Car cover=6.6 lbs
Spare tire/jack(will remove after reaching the track )=33.6 lbs
Sub box(Shaker 1000)=35.6 lbs
Amp rack(Shaker 1000)=16.8 lbs
Car seat(son's)=10.8 lbs
Back seat(both folding and bottom parts)=24.8 lbs
Passenger seat(leather)=48.6 lbs
Grand Total of 183.4 lbs! That is only a handful away from totally eliminating me!!!!!
