What do you personally think of them? Do you like them?

I really wish people would stop buying the retrofitted HID headlights. Most of the headlight housings are not designed for the HID bulbs and just glare to oncomming drivers. The housing is designed for halogen in most cases. Also, Most retrofit HID is illegal.

No offense, but I don't like HID at all. It give off false colors. It sucks in rain and fog etc. Our 2003 Maxima has them and I would actually like to convert it to halogen like the high beams.

What I did on my classic was to install a headlight relay kit that allows full voltage to get to the bulbs. I am running Sylvania Xtravision bulbls that are actually slightly higher wattage than the regular 6024 halogen. The relays also keep the headlight switch from having to carry the load of the halogen bulbs. The switch was originall designed to run regular sealed beams.

dont know if i like them yet,my car has been down for 6 months.My distributor gave them to me to get me to try them.I do like the white(not yellow) color and they come with a digital relay kit.As far as rain,my car doesnt see rain and I could give 2 *****s about oncomming drivers when they feel the same.

HID's are not illegal here(yet) but im sure its not far off as theres too many whiners out there looking to complain about something.

I wasn't trying to say that all HID is illegal. But it has to be properly done. In most places only factory HID or an expensive HID retrofit kit with projector headlights is legal. The other kits are not.

I have had a couple of oncomming vehicles on the road with retrofitted HID that was extremely blinding, but then again they might have had a higher wattage off road type setup.

I'm not usually one to care if it is truely legal or not, but for some reason the HID stuff just bothers me.

My car doesn't really see rain either. The false colors is what I don't like. It makes things on the road look wierd.

You didn't say about your wheels. Are the spokes/centers powdercoated white?

oh the wheels are rattle can.I got tired of polishing the TT2's and dont want to get new wheels right now.

I know when you change to HID's you SHOULD readjust the light and point them a little lower.I can see what you mean about the color, in my garage, its look diferent.

I hate being in front of a car with those bright headlights at night. It's very annoying to me and very distracting. Why would you need that much light in the city?

It is the same as being in front one of those vehicles that are lifted really high to clear who knows what on the street and didn't have their headlights adjusted. I guess clearing manhole covers is really important. :notnice:

My wife drives an '08 Scion XB. I left it alone for the first six months we had it, and then..........I couldn't take it anymore, bought all the JDM Toyota Rumion parts I could source in the US, and made this:

I started laughing and that ended it but it wasn't exactly why I did it!

I had HID's on my Toyota and took them off because the color was a problem when I was driving at night. If I still lived in Bakersfield there's no way I'd have them there because I'd get pulled over in a minute.

and your point is? Unless your the spokesperson for EVERYBODY, nobody asked if it was a "super glare" kit. What do you mean by "proper OEM cutoff". Is this your terminology:shrug:

Heres the deal, the lights are bright. A 35 watt kit is the same wattage as a european car, the diference is the housing that its in. and how it disperses the light.

most oem hid set ups have a "cut off" shield that prevents light from scattering upward(into the eyes of on coming drivers). on many vehicles it is actually motorized most however it is fixed.

aftermarket HID's should be readjusted to they point a little more downward so they dont blind other people.MOST kids dont do this and thats why they ger a bad wrap.The bulbs also have a sheild as well as the housing

Right. But this thread is about the kit you got these from your distributor. You're asking if there's any interest. We are asking you specifics and your answers have been along the lines of 'WHO CARES?' and more or less thinking people solely want these for the BUH LING SUPER EURO COOL factor.

We are asking quantitative questions and you are giving qualitative answers.

ok heres my answer, the housing has a shield to prevent the light from scattering.Is it perfect,no.Is it blinding to others in front,we tried it and no.IF you dont plan on buying them, dont worry about it, IF you are going to buy them on dont think think this kit is what your looking for, look eslewhere.
You drop in a HID kit into a OEM housing not made for HID's, its gonna scatter, some are worse then others.
