Vortech V3 power?

Thinking of making the drive, anyone have dyno numbers/track times on this product? Puting it on a stock 07 Convertible.

Mustang GT Vortech Supercharger V3 Brenspeed Package (05-09), non intercooled

Thanks

I have the V2 non-intercooled (identical to V3, but oiled from the oil pan, not self contained like the V3).

I have an automatic trans, which dynos about five percent lower than a manual, and I dyno'd on a Mustang Dyno which tends to read about ten percent lower than a Dynojet. Also, my engine & exhaust are 100% factory stock. Car makes 364 rwhp at 6,400 rpm's (shiftpoints) and 380 rwhp at 6,800 rpm's (redline). That works out to about 450-475 hp at the flywheel.

Last day at the drag strip I ran back to back 12.34's @ 111+ in the 1/4 mile. 1/8 mile was 7.89 @ 90+ mph. Even though centfugals like to rev, my 0-60 mph times have dropped from 5.1 stock to 3.7 now and 0-100 mph times have dropped from 13.7 stock to 9.9 now. A manual trans car may possibly go quicker than mine as more power gets to the ground.

That Brenspeed V3 kit is a lot of power for the money.

Man, you're killing me. I should be saving my money but those are such good numbers for the money. Argh!!!

You're right - good numbers for the money. I only spent $4600 total out-the-door for the V2 kit & installation. Custom dyno tuning added a few hundred to that, as I had some special requirements for auto trans & converter operation to work with that manual trans cars don't have to fuss with.

With all the the twin screw kits going for $5500, $6000, $6500, and more, with installation on top of that, you're looking at $6000 to $8000 out-the-door for a twin screw. My budget restricted me to a non-intercooled centrifugal, and I couldn't be happier with how well the car performs. Excellent bang-for-the-buck!

Thanks for all the input, I think I'm sold. I'm not looking for faster than mid 12's...

Just about every supercharger kit on the market will get you into the mid 12's (or better), so shopping by price is the way to go. Vortech & Paxton centrifugals are reliable, proven, and very inexpensive. Keep us posted on what you buy and when it's installed. We all like to compare here!
