Radio Install Help

Hi,
I just bought an 87 GT convertible 2 weeks ago and I love it. I need some help from all you Mustang experts.
My 87 GT came with the factory EQ. I removed the stock unit. I have a Kenwood head unit with the factory harness adaptor. I wired in everything and I have no sound from the speakers. I know the head unit is good because I unpluged the Kenwood I have in my truck and plugged it into my truck and it works fine. I would guess that the EQ plug has something to do with it, but what do I have to do to make it work? Please help.
Thanks
Frank

Ok. I have the whole interior out, so that makes it a lot easier. The amp is mounted right behind the console to the hump. I unbolted & unpluged it. Then I found the other 2 connector that the radio install harness plugs into. Now I have rear speakers and dash speakers, but no door speakers. Any more advice on gettin the door speakers working.
Thanks
Frank

i have never messed with the stock setup so i may not help you, I assume that you cant run both sets through your aftermarked HU b/c you only have hook ups for 4 speakers and your trying to hook up 6. the factory amp probably treated the front 4 speakers as a component set. If you still have the stock setup my goat would be to get the door speakers going and F
the dash speakers they are chit.

if you take the harnees for the amp and follow it where it goes in the dash some where around the glove box there another connection.diconect that conection and plug the radio harnees into that.that will bypass the amp and you will be in business.gdlk phil

I found that, but only the dash speakers and the rear ones worked. I got sick of messing around. I followed the door speaker wires to the connector. I snipped them off and spliced them into the fronts and now it's working fine.
Thanks for all the help
