What tires is everyone running?

let's see, in the past on my gt i had general uhp's- were kinda in bad shape when i bought the car so i can't give an outstanding opinion.. Fuzion Zri's- (245/17&265/18) Loved them, both sets i used from when i went to the gt4 rims. quiet and great in the rain. Cobra came with sumi htrz II's not incredible in rain and easy to break loose in a dig,Nitto nt555's- (275/17) excellent in rain and great grip in a dig, medium quiet ride

On the 97, I have to run an all-season. I have been running the Yokohama H4S and love it. I've put 30k very very hard miles on them, including nearly 20 passes at the track. They are currently at the wear bars, but still have great traction in the dry. Wet traction has been very good. Snow traction was reasonably good when the tires had good tread, but no tire does well in the snow when the tread is thin.
I looked carefully at the other all season tires available and the price and just bought another set of yoko H4S's. They really are a good value for the money. I value stopping distance highly and these tires top the competition on tire racks stopping tests, in the wet and dry. Sure, there is probably a better all season tire out there, but you'd have to spend an extra 200$+ on a set of 4. They also have a 500 treadwear rating, and if you don't drive as hard as me, you can get 60k miles from them. ;)
On the 88, the front has some dry rotted BFGs which I absolutely hate and nitto 555Rs in the back. The nitto works very well on the street and track. You can get 10k miles if you drive nicely and they really stick. At the track, I got a 1.7 60' and from a roll on the street, they rarely break loose. The nitto is the only choice if you want to drive your drag radials on the street too. The others will get better 60' times, but you'll change the tires as often as you change the oil (every 3-4k miles).

Stock rubber Goodyears, ok but went fast. Replaced with Kumhos Ecstas 712's, never again. Sounded like a 4 x 4 through last half of life. Replaced with General UHP's. Very few miles less than 5,000 but do like them.
Fuzions on the the wife's MPV....2nd set, I like 'em.

i have been running nitto nt555's in a 275/35/18 up front, and love them.

as far as rear tires, i had 285/35/18 sumitomo htr z II and they sucked....they were noisy, they didnt hook on the track for crap, and they were not good in the rain.

i now run a 285/35/18 nitto 555 drag radial and i know they aren't good at the track, but they are great for the street. good wear, fairly quiet, decent in the rain, and hook decent on the street with out tons of spin. overall i think i love these tires so far and i have only put 1000 miles on them.

oh and during the winter, i have 245/45/17 Blizzak WS-50's on stock wheels. they are glorious in the snow!!

Kumho V700. 265/35-18 on front, 285/30-18 on rear.

Not exactly an "everyday" tire, but **** it. The only drawback is that they suck every little piece of everything off the road.

The car is a fair-weather/weekend cruiser (bomber?), so I'm not worried about rain, and it's parked during the winter.

The other set of wheels had/has Kumho Ecsta 712s on it (265/35-18 on all four). I'd like to replace the V700s with the 712s, as they're still in great shape, but I need to get some 295s for the rear. I don't think a 265 will fit right/look right on a 10" wheel...

I just got some Nitto 555dr 274/40/17 for the rear, havent taken it the the track with these tires yet so i dont know how they will hook at the track, but they seem to be very good on the street, i can still bark the tires in second tho:shrug:

I have Nitto 555's 245/25/17 all the way around on my 04 GT. I love them, they handle good, hook good, and have decent wear. I'm about to buy a wheel/tire package that comes with Sumi's, which I'm not sure if I'm going to like after having Nitto's. But as soon as they need to be replaced Nitto's are going back on.

I have Fuzion ZRi's on the 90GT, and I'm amazed at these tires for the price. They're relatively cheap, handle okay, but they've lasted twice as long as the Kumho Ecsta 712's I had on it before that, and also twice as long as the Falken's (512 I think?) I had before those.

I usually have to replace tires on the 90 every spring, but those Fuzions made it for 2 years! I'm actually buying another set later this week!

I am running Sumitomo HTRZ-IIs in 275/35R18 as my "summer" set. They hooked surprisingly well at the track (1.885 60') but they lack grip at the autocross. So far, mine are quiet and get decent rain traction as long as I don't give it too much throttle.

My winter tires are Blizzak WS-50s mounted on the stock 17s. They work amazingly well in the snow and ice. I never thought I would be able to daily drive a 400 rwhp, supercharged Mustang in Pennsylvania winters, but those tires haven't let me down.

you won't hook any better on the street with them than a good steet tire. They really show their benefit when the tire pressure is lowered and you do a healthy 6-10 second burnout.

Firestone Wide Ovals, best tire I have ever had.
