Gauge Wiring with pics

So I finished up my wiring box for the gauges that I am installing into the car.
This is strictly for the the lights in the gauges I did not want to twist them all together and use electrical tape.

Cost me under $10 in parts from home depot and radio shack.

I added some links to the pictures. Not sure why you cant see them they are hosted on Picasa as public.

Cant see them either. I just ordered gauges from Speedhut, was curious what ya did.

Nice. Where did you get the connectors? Did they come with the gauges or did you aquire them elsewhere? What made you decide to go with a trans temp gauge?

The connectors are Molex "power connectors" from radio shack, similar to what you find in a computer.

You can find them in the shelve section in radio shack. only thing is you need a crimper for the ends and a extractor tool if you decide you want to remove a pin without mutilating it.

They sell both there. I can post pictures of mine when I get home.

As for the trans temp, well thinking about it now after the fact I guess I would really only need one if I were doing some serious racing, but I wanted to have all information available to me about the function of the vehicle so that what I decided at the time. (That an I guess I thought it would be cool to have)

Looking really good Aero! This is a project that is high on my list, so am always interested in how people are mounting the guages in the bezel, especially 67/68 bezels. How are your guages connected, is that JB weld or something similar? Are you going to use anything else to hold them in or is it pretty solid?

That is JB weld and it is the only thing hold them in place except for that one on the left.

THis was done prior to the release of the After market Gauge supports that are available now.

I'm not sure those plastic guage supports are any better since they are supposed to replace the metal housing & support. So I guess the advantage to using the plastic is it's already cut for the guages, but the support is weakened. I have also read that some of the guage lighting uses the metal housing as the ground and without it, will need to make other provisions. Anyone else use the plastic support with success?

looks good but if it were me the fuel gauge would have been in the dash cluster and the trans temp on the other pod. looks like you have quite a bit of work ahead of you, good luck and have fun.
