Thanks for the comments. :)

Few more runs with some video of them.

Gotta work on my front suspension. Cutting the front springs was a bad idea for me, stance is better but its too slow to transfer weight. Got some springs on order and some new strutrods to help loosen the front back up. Track got pretty slick by the last runs, was going a slow 1.56 (usually 1.48-1.50's for me)

I have the roller perches, Calvert 90/10s and 6 cylinder springs that are cut.

I went with some springs and strut rods that money maker racing sells. Only thing left on the front would be roller UCA to free it up, doubt it would make that much of a difference though.

It actually leaves better from an idle than off the transbrake. I might have to try the bottom hole instead of the top on the Caltracs. I did try different preloads but just could not take enough out of it off the brake to make it work.

i've heard about the 6cyl springs. isn't there an a/c and non-a/c option? which one should i get?
since i have a windsor, turbo, and steel hood, i doubt i would have to cut a 6cyl spring.
thanks.

edit- yes i have the roller perches.

I would say non AC. I know moneymaker uses something else though, you may wanna contact them. Or you can wait till after the 8th and I will know more on how these work that I'm getting.

Here is a pic of the strut rods that are coming.

In my line of thinking it was because the tires had just a split second to turn and bite before they were hit. If I used the brake up to 3k, it would flash higher and dead hook. Taking it 3400 it would spin. I think you'd do better in the upper holes either way. Probably doesn't hit the tires hard enough for the upper hole. "recommended'' is having the bar level with the ground.

Paul, mine are stocker's from '68. I'd try w/ AC and cut to make it level if you had to.

Mine goes 1.50 footbrake but 1.56 this weekend off the tbrake. Its hitting the tires too hard and spinning hard. That and the track going away didnt help. The nice cool night the other time out it actually hooked better. That cool night it went 1.48 but still leaving very soft from tire spin. Get to about the xmas tree and you can feel it bite. I think once its actually hooking correctly it will be low 1.40's no problem. Might just have to go to 26x10.5's

Sorry, what I meant was not throwing the rear out of the car hard enough. Any better pics/vid of the launch up close? I've got ones where I could tell exactly what was going on. Found out I needed longer shocks. Nose was in the air and it would kinda bounce on the rear tires when the shocks maxed out.

Decided to try my street tires. 275/40/17's Hoosier Drag Radials. Running 14psi air pressure in them.

First run left from an idle, 1.65 60' bogged on me. I needed to adjust my idle mixture for the different fuel. forgot

Second run, set the transbrake, brought rpms to about 4500 with the throttle (about 1/2 or a little less throttle) Nailed it on the last yellow and left HARD. 1.44 60' and a -.002 reaction time. LOL Just about perfect. Third run did the same 1.44 60' again.

Very impressed with these tires. Didn't expect it to hook like that, and now I cant wait to try to launch that way with my slicks. Floored on the transbrake just hits them too hard and over powers them. Best 60' on slicks was a 1.48. Go figure.

10.27@129mph with the 1.44 60' :)

CONGRATS!!!!

have your tried more air pressure with the hoosier's? those generally like about 18psi.

I had used them before and ran higher air pressures and it never seemed to work well for me. I just went back to the 13-14 that I usually run in them. Of course my suspension wasn't nearly as good as it is now, but at 16 and higher they would just spin on me. Only pulling 1.7's back then with them though.
