Just a heads, the alt grouds to the bracket which grounds to the engine. When I powdercoated my bracket, the alt couldn't ground and thus wouldn't charge. I had to sand the powdercoating off where the alt mounted to the braket and the backside of the bracket where it contacted the heads.

Also, I had my tfi module in the same place you have yours and at full left turn, the tire would rub and pull the harness out of the module. You may or may not run into this problem.

tfi module you mean the connector that was on the pass side of the engine bay that i put on the other side???

what size tire you running???

thanks for the heads up man:nice:

Hmm.... i dont have a pic of me actually repinning... takes alot of hands...

But what you do is:
1. Unwrap the tape on the harness
2. Look down in to the connector
3. Find the plactic lock...
4. Take a pick (like the orange handled one im pointing at the oil pan with) there will be a small notch in the plastic lock stick the pick in it and pull out the lock.
5. looking in the connector there will be small plastic clips holding the wires inplace, stick the pick down in to the connectors above the wire to release the clip while putting tension on the wire.
6. Wire should pull out, repeat for the rest of the wires make sure you document all wires in order... i did this by taking a **** load of pictures.

Connector half unpinned:

Notice the 2 yellow wires... exactly the same... i taped one and numbered it to show the difference

Documenting wire order:

Its cracked... but pushing out...
DSCF7008.jpg

Welded...
DSCF7016.jpg

Wtf.... seems like it was hit from the inside.... Kinda bugging me.... so when i tried to put it back up with no gasket... i found it hitting the oil pump bolts... so i measured.... Stock height from block is 5 1/8 .... With the melling HV pump... its 5 1/2 .... think i found the source to my crack...

Here is what i used to check for clearance:
Stock pump...

OK so new idea.... make my own pan...

Camera died here... but it took till after 9pm but its back on the car and on the ground...

we checked for leaks with water.... then welded the leaks.... then we submerged the oil pan in the tub and blew some air up under it.... its AIR tight.... granted the welds look like crap and the grinder broke today... but it got me the clearance i needed for the pump.. without buying a $300 canton...

WELL i guess its a win.....

Big thanks to chris... who busted his ass to help me get this thing back on the ground and inside tonight!

Tomorrow.....
Posibably...
Oil fill tube in the valve cover...
Upper intake, Throttle body, Egr spacer, IAC, TPS ...
Some more wiring....
Fenders on....

Anyone have pics of their valve covers with the TFS fill tube?? anywhere i have to put it to clear my roller rockers???

You know you live less then an hour from me??? :D

and uh.... the goal is to be running by june 5th....:SNSign:

honestly, if i had time i probably would come over and help for a bit but, i barely have time to work on my own car to get it ready for carlisle. I know your pushing for it to be done by then, but i was inquiring if that was still feasible or if your recent setbacks have pushed it back.

As of right now... its going to come down to having brakes on the car... Also i think chris threw out my battery and possibly my 02 sensors...

had another set back today... but i got over it... Put in the fill tube... Looks good... went to bolt the valve cover on... only to find out the one of the VC threads in the head was like completly gone... :rlaugh::nonono: .... So i thought i saw some way deep... i had the bolts left over from taking off the oil pan on my other engine... and they are the same thread... but have that little tip with no thread... they wouldnt thread it... however when i cut off the tip with no thread... it stopped it from bottoming it out and it threaded in tightly...:nice: that was a dodged bullet...
DSCF7039.jpg

Im also having problems with my lower intake... what sensors need to go in to it etc.... Ill post this up in tech... Also.. I cant find my connections for the 02 sensors... what harness are they on....

I also need to find a source for 4 gauge welding cable to run to my alt...

other then this ****.... i think im good... if i get answers to this over the weekend i should be able to hear a start up by the end of next week....

Here is the oil pan pics from yesterday:

canton here i come!

for the alt cable go to the local autozone or advance auto and buy a battery cable, they come in all kinds of lengths (even up to like 6') and are pretty cheap. Just buy wire connections for the ends, cut the ends off the battery cable and crimp the connections on and go :nice:
