I just picked up a 96 cobra and I want to make 300rwhp all N/A. What is the best avenue to get it? Ported heads and cams or just bolt ons? I would love to make 300-320 with out any power adders.
96-98 heads arn't the same as the 99/01 heads? I thought the intake was the only change. I was thinking this as a combo......
C&L intake with 80mm mass aire flow.
Under drives.
Long tubes.
o/r x pipe.
acufab t/b.
Cat back
4.30 gears
SCT custom dyno tune.
pray for 300rwhp.....
What do you guys think?
What is the intake runner delete?
BTW, a 4.30 or 4.56 gear is nastier
I took her to the track last night for her first pass down the 1/4.
13.78 @ 102mph was my best. 2.17 60'
What do you think? Is that normal for a stock cobra?

The short runner intake w/ imrc deletes and tune is what will put you over. All the bolt ons you can have including Lt's will get you around 295ish. The intake and tune is what will help. There are a few that have a very similar combo of what I listed and making over 300 rwhp and around the 315 rwhp range.

That is true. That is why I also stated that a 4.30 or a 4.56 gear will certainly make up for that little bit of loss.IMRC on a 96 Cobra - I'd leave em. While you may be happy at the dyno (with some increase in PEAK HP), you won't be so happy on the street after you realize what you lost in making this deal.
The Mach is a different engine(different heads/intake and cams) so it is irrelevant to the topic.
