Snap Crackle Pop

I have never heard this from any car I have owned. When letting off the throttle you hear a bunch of pops coming from the exhaust. And the exhaust vibrates the crap out of the car just from the sound alone. Now let me tell you how the prior owner has the exhaust: He cut out the catalytic cinverters, welded in a slightyly bigger pipe to fill in the space( Uggggg!) and has flowmasters with turndowns. Personally I do not think this sound is normal, or is it?
BTW I am replacing the system with a proper BBK offroad H-pipe and 40 series Flowmasters.

This is normal, to an extent. The exhaust will pop with an off road X or H pipe, especially with turn downs. I have a Bassani X-pipe w/ flows and turn downs, and it pops and carries on quite a bit when I let off. I kinda like it though! If you put pipes on the car it will reduce some of the interior noise.

Hmmm ok. I just did not remember my 89 LX doing this and it had a custom off road H-pipe and flowmasters and shorty headers. Maybe it did and my brain is going

Pull codes. If you're dumping extra fuel in the exhaust or your IAC isnt increasing its DC during decel, that can cause popping too.
