built 306 with tremec t5z trans. When i get into higher RPM's the shifter knob/handle vibrate like crazy. Anyone ever experience this or know of possible reasons as to why this is happening? It happens in gear and out of gear.

Thanks ahead of time

Check

Check the condition of your balancer.

Also you can try a shifter gasket from stangshiftergaskets.com Easy to install and help the vibrations with aftermarket shifters.

It has to be motor/trans area related given it happens in neutral and in gear... but its still kicking my butt given i cant figure it out. Bran new Trans mount, have not changed motor mounts yet

mine was doing the same las year and i had 2.73's then this spring put in 3.73's and it was worse, so its something between the rear end and tranny cause w/ 3.73 everything is spinning that much faster. . . but it only does it at high speeds., . . i am hoping it is U-joint, as this spring on first drive i was out on the highway and cranked her up pretty good and it was vibrating and kicked out of 5th gear. . . now i have a cracked tail section. . . but my front ujoint was a little loose, so i got a new alum. ds & ujoints and tail. . . . .
check ur ujoints

It vibrates when I'm sitting at idle not in gear... and it vibrates when i am in gear. It doesn't vibrate unless I'm higher in the RPM range(3000k+) in both scenario's, idle or driving. When you say look at my Harmonic Balancer, what exactly should i be looking at or for?

Thanks!!!

It's the hockey puck shaped part between the crank pulley and the bottom front of the motor. If your car has the original one, just replace it. All the big Mustang parts places have stock replacements for $60ish all the way through $400 SFI approved precision pieces. Pick what works for you and since you've got work done to yours, you may need something different than stock (28oz balance, vs. 50oz balance for example).

My 56k mile '92 balancer "looked" ok, but after taking it off, the rubber was brittle and cracked. A new Professional Products balancer smoothed out the revs dramatically.

stock as far as i know, the motor tweaks a ton side to side when i rev it.... im pretty sure they are the stock rubber ones. They look beat up and worn... so im thinking im going to replace them first and give that a shot, hopefully it fixes the problem
