Clutch Recommendations

I got a stock t5 in my car right now and the clutch seems to be slipping. I don't care how heavy of a feel the clutch has because it is a mostly weekend driver with a few drives every now and then during the week. Which one would you recommend for my mods in my sig, and where can it be gotten for the best deal. Sorry I searched, but there is so many different opinions.......

This is what I put in my 96 Cobra. Made 408RWHP. Held great, nice pedal, doesn't rip your head off. It's really all you need for your mods.

79-98 CLUTCH KIT, HEAVY DUTY, MOTORSPORT MISCFORD

I have this in my 04 Cobra with 595RWHP. It's a stock clutch.

Suggestions

King Cobra Clutch gets my vote for what your looking for. Got mine off ebay and I was 100% satified. Heres the link to the clutch I have. And its a little cheaper.

Also would suggest getting one of these regaurdless of what clutch you get.

83-93 RETAINER, BEARING, T-5, 5.0 MISCFORD

Its also a good idea to replace the rear main seal and the transmission tail shaft seal.
From personal experience I would steer clear of an adjustable clutch cable kit. Just my opinion tho.

thanks, i already replaced the tailshaft seal and planned on doing the rear main while I had everything out. thanks for the links everyone.

Would I be ok with just resurfacing my flywheel?

Ya resurfacing should be find depending on how it looks should not cost much either depending on how many passes it needs.

Get the king cobra, if i remember correctly the hd ford racing clutch is hard to depress, i know you say it doesn't matter, but i said the same thing and one traffic jam was all it took to realize it had to come out. I really really hated that clutch.
Besides too heavy of a pressure plate will break the stock quadrant.

I don't like resurfacing flywheels, i always just bought a new ford racing replacement for $100.

KC is all you need, get a flywheel also. I wrecked two clutches do to using a stock resurfaced flywheel, not KC's though.

I agree whole heartedly. I love mine but Its a little heavy on the foot tho.
KC's are good too. you'd be pleased with either one.

The KC clutch is only 10% less effort. They say the discs are virtually the same so you might as well to with the KC then.

Resurfaced flywheels are the way to go. I've had that done on every Mustang I done a clutch in. Find a machine shop to do it. Mine was 25 bucks to resurface. If the kit doesn't come with a TO bearing, buy one.

White88Ttop gave you that ebay link for a KC clutch for 129 plus 30 shipping. Man, I'd get that then. That's cheap as hell.

Adjustable cables rarely fit right.

I used the Ford adjustable cable with an old SVO quadrant for years. It worked very well.

The issue some folks have with parts store adjustables is that they snap. The stocker is pretty HD and has some measures taken to minimize friction.

Clutch cable situation

Ya after going though a couple name brand clutch cables I removed the firewall adjuster and kept the steeda quadrant on and slapped the stocker back on and it works damn good together. I had a no named brand, UPR and the steeda cable all snap on me an had to put the car in gear and start it an drive in first to get home ahahah. classic im sure some of you guys have been there. ive installed and adjusted myself but also had a clutch specialty place adjust and there very fimilair with adjustable cable and they still snapped.
