I have a billet Hurst shifter with a Hurst pistol Grip shifter handle. You can still have a cool looking (and functioning) shifter.

Are MGW's really that good? They are all I hear about anymore. I have had Hurst (both the old chrome stick and newer style) Steeda Tri-Ax and a couple Pro-5.0's and the Pro-5.0 has been by far the best. I know the interchangable handle of the MGW is a damn nice feature but is the feel of the shifter that much better? I love the notchy click action of the Pro-5.0, the others just dont have that positive in-gear feel to me.

The short answer is YES, MGWs are that good. :D Complete adjustability, short, tight, positive throws. It just kicks ass, period.

I have a pro-5.0 with a steeda tri ax handle... but all this MGW talk has gotten me curious also.... just not enough to spend 200 $ on what is an unnecessary upgrade for me at this time........ Anyway, maybe try my combo.. its pretty good.

Yep

Yes the MGW pretty much dominates all others.

I've had a Steeda Tri-Ax in one of my other Stangs and I've driven a friends car with a Pro 5.

All are a huge step up over the stocker, but if you want to compare aftermarket shifters the MGW is by far the most solid and positive-shifting one out there.

I have driven them all, but had a Pro5.0 since before the MGWs came out and have no intentions of changing it...

Also if your looking for that kind of "ratchet" shifting, might I suggest a Jericho. My dad has one with a Veritgate shifter... You just hit it back and forth, not left to right movement. Sounds awkward, but when you see how it works, it is definately a great invention. Avoids ANY sliding it into the wrong gear. It literally will not physically happen!!
