I have a 1999 Mustang gt and my low coolant light is on
I found the problem its the float in the radiator reservoir keeps getting stuck it looks like it just need a good cleaning but cant seem to figure out how to remove it.
you don't > take the whole thing off and wash it out with the water hose > if that don't work go to the car wash and use the high pressure > gentally> don't blow it out of the housing >if you take it apart it will start leaking .

Or cut the two wires to the sensor loose, cap them off and keep a check on the coolant once a week. The wires have to be seperate from each other , tied together the light stays on. Just another simple option. Worked for me.
