You dont fix engine parts with glue or duct tape, too much heat and vibration.
One thing thats unclear to me is was it still in the original box that JLT shipped,
and still sealed with the original factory tape??? If so it wasnt bubbled wrapped
very well since it is a special brittle plastic.
I read earlier today somewhere that JLT uses a special plastic that doesnt
hold heat, so I dont think it is PVC. You could probably hit PVC with a hammer
and not break it.
Sorry man, gotta side with V_Eight on this one. Yes, it would be nice if JLT sent him a new tube free of charge. It would also be nice if Ford Motor Company sent me a new Shelby GT500 Free of charge too.
The bottom line is that as "nice" as it would be if they did something for this guy, it’s not their obligation. Nor should they receive poor press for not replacing the tube should they decide not to. In the end, this was not in any way, shape or form JLT's folly. Besides, JLT has a good enough rep in this business that rumors of them not replacing a tube for some guy, who in fact bought the product second had, that neglected to check his shipment for months on end before examining the product, who in the end can't even confirm how the tube got broken in the first place....isn't going to hurt their rep one single bit!
If they did replace if for them.....good for him. To those looking to get something for nothing, it will be looked at as “good customer service” to those of us who don’t believe its JLT’s responsibility, it screams “Man, what suckers these guys are. I can get free stuff from them if I kick up a fuss”.
You questioning the way he does because with his own company because he doesn’t share your opinion in this instance isn't called for.

None of your pictures came through.
Who was this purchased from?
Without the pictures I can assume something is damaged? How did it happen?
Shipping? Then who ever you purchased from should put in a claim with the
shipper.
We don't box up damaged goods, so I'm not sure how you can put the blame on
us, when this product has been shipped to a couple different people.
Jared, feel free to send new pictures and call to discuss.

Please understand I am not a free loader and I am not trying to get something for nothing, but I think its JLT's obligation to replace a broken part especially when the car has not seen one second of service time.
See, right there is where you lost me. Again, you're placing the blame on JLT when it in no way, shape or form lies with them.
....and quite frankly, you saying you're not expecting something for nothing doesn't make is so just because you state it. You want them to give you/replace a part that you didn't pay them for.
As far as questioning how V_Eight runs his business... If my comment offended him I apologize. It was more in reference to his comment of "I wouldn't send you an empty box" Not something I would say to one of my customers. at the time my post was made i was not aware he had his own business and I wasn't questioning it, I made a statement.

The fact is the part was paid for, had I stolen the intake I would agree with you, but the intake was paid for, not by me, but by another individual, in either case the intake was PAID for, and thus an implied warranty against opening the box and discovering a broken part.
I am not going to argue with people about it beyond this.
I will say that SOMEONE needs to step up on this, and replace the pipe, primarily I would suggest JLT.
Gearbanger I have read and agreed with many of your posts, but on this issue I am just choosing to respectfully disagree. I hope you don't take this personally as I do have respect for your opinion and your experience.
Thanks,
Jared
The seller who sold you the intake opened the box up and inspected the items before shipping it to you. If it arrived damaged from the seller to you, then it's the shipping companies fault for damage during transit, which in that case it's not JLT's responsibility to replace it but the seller's to file a claim with the shipping company assuming he got insurance for the package.
