What problems would I have?

If i had a bad EGR valve? would it cause my car to idle bad? And could it cause hesitation and missing?

it shouldn't cause any of that. what year is your mustang? the earlier models, mainly before 1991, have had good luck removing the system all together. I've herd you can do it to the 91-93 models, but have herd otherwise as well. sounds like you may have something else wrong. Is it throwing any codes?

Its an 89, and its got some wierd problems.
