Pics of the Bullitt!

I know some of you tried to convince me to keep the '95, and although I loved the **** out of that car, I wanted something newer. The '95 had all kinds of rattles, no a/c (SUCKED in Savannah, Ga heat!!), and moderately high mileage. I sold it for $6,700 and picked up my B for $10k. It's in mint condition with 13k miles on it. I miss my '95 all the time, but there's just something so nice about the smoothness of a new car. It already had a Magnaflow catback and catted x-pipe on it from the original owner as well as a CAI. I just installed a Summit short throw and an On-In-60 coin delete as well. Plans for the summer are a chin spoiler, grill delete, and to lower it. I may also put on an o/r x-pipe but for right now I am undecided. It's so tame while cruising, but when you get on it, it sounds awesome! And MY GOD does this car pull up top compared to the '95!! My 5.0 would run out of steam at 5200 rpms but the B pulls past 6k easy and keeps pulling! I love this car! Not to mention it handles amazing, and stops on a dime. I can't believe I didnt put 13" brakes in the '95 sooner.

The other day me and my buddies washed up our cars and shot some pics. I got to use my new lens on my Rebel XSI for this shoot and I think the pics turned out awesome. Lemme know what you think!

I dig it. :nice: Needs some deep dish wheels in the rear to complete it. And maybe a 99/01 Cobra front bumper, if you could find one. Don't you love how I'm spending your money already? :D

SWEET! Its amazing what deep dish wheels do to these cars. Here's my mom's with American racing torque thrust M's. When she bought these the replica deep dish wheels were not available and the AM wheels came with deep dish front and rear. I have to say that pics do not do it justice because in person this thing looks mean as hell, almost road racer-ish, with these wheels. I LOVE her bullitt and I know you'll be happy with it. FWIW- I took my mom's bullitt to the track in 100% stock trim other than my 26" ET street with >25lbs of air in the tires and ran a 13.5 at 101 at my home track which is a solid 2 tenths and 2mph slower than some of the other tracks I've been to.

A mach-1 grille delete is all these cars need to be really set off, especially when they are DHG. I wouldn't lower it but that's me, I love the stock suspension on these cars.

Thanks Paul! I plan on getting a set of 10.5's out back and some 315's. The factory wheels just look tiny in the rear wheel wells. I don't plan on lowering it too much more, maybe an inch all around. I plan to cut a coil out all around. I want the same ride as I have now, just lower and since they are linear rate vs. a regular GT's progressive rate, I should be fine. There are a few people over at IMBOC that have cut theirs with great results.

As for ET, that's pretty impressive man. You can really drive the wheels off of anything you get your hands on.

Glad to see you got the Bullitt, Michael. I really miss my 94 and, in fact, almost bought another, but then I drove my buddy's Cobra and Mach1 and now I'm set on either one of those. The ride quality, lower mileage, and overall better condition the more late-model cars are really make it worth investing in one, imho.

Keep us posted on the mod progress. I'd love me a Bullitt!!

First--CONGRATS! I remember you agonizing (or at least, I was agonizing for you over the decision) and that some of us advised you to go the other way, but it sounds like you made out well, and you're HAPPY--that's a win in my book. :nice:

I don't think this works--I'm no ENGENEEER, but I'm pretty sure when you start cutting coils, you're changing spring rate, regardless of whether or not they're progressive rate. I know in the vintage world, where everything's a linear rate spring, cutting coils drastically effects ride quality.

Not saying you won't be ok, cuz if you cut them and it doesn't work, you're still out the same $$ if you have to buy drop springs, so it's worth a try. Just saying you might not get the ride results you want by cutting.

Or, I could be totally misinformed. It happened once, or so I was told.:D

Congradulations! :nice: That's a beautiful car! I know I told you keep your old one, but sometimes I wonder what it would be like having a fast car that you don't have to worry about too...

Can't wait to see it and hear it in person!
