okay well its my dads car, but anyways what could be wrong. the car is a 98 gt and it wont run. it starts and dies after a couple seconds unless you give it gas, but then it dies once you let off, and it smell like its running rich.
I'd agree, It sounds like the MAF, i had a similar issue when i started my stang for the first time after rebuild. I forgot to secure the MAF and it separated from the cold air intake tubing causing the car to start and stall.
okay an update. its kind of odd though. my dad started the car today and held the gas to keep it running, and after around 7 minutes he herd a pop from the engine, and the car started running normal
Could be both I would spray out the MAS with some meter cleaner and see if that does it; if not, take her in to get the IAC looked at. They can also check the lines and make sure you don't have a leak somewhere.
