Ok, so we were driving home from a car show today on the highway and just about home when I hear this clunk and then I see something fly out from underneath the car and bounce down the road. Took it slow for a few km and everything seems fine so I made a loop around went back to where it happened to look for what fell off. Attached is what I found. The issue is I am not even 100% sure that this was the part that fell off but this is all I could find. Any thoughts on what this is or where it went or if this even came from my car??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :bigthumbsup

I put the car up on ramps when I got it home and could see nothing wrong and any indication of something being torn off or falling off. I want to avoind another trip to the mechanic as I just paid to have a tranny installed and was hoping that would be it for a while.

Kinda looks like the cover for the ..... crap, forgot what its called. The fork that disengages the clutch, where the clutch cable attaches to it.That part looks similar to the dust shield that goes over that fork.

ummmmm hey nero6 let me buy that from u :nonono:

ahahaha ya i lost mine

Too bad I wasnt driving behind you , I need one of those!

Lol :rlaugh:. I will sell it to you for $250. It must be worth more now since it flew off the car at 120km and hour and only has a few sratches on it, it just goes to show the quality of this one.:D The funny thing is I had no idea what I was looking for so it would have been fair game, I am sure you would have beat me to it. Pulled over on the side of the highway with transfer trucks and cars flying by a few feet away. I was thinking there was no hope at all to find it whatever it was, with all the other debris, exploded car tires, and animal bones, I picked up the part the looked the least dirty and hoped that it was it. Nothing like hearing a clunk and a part flying off your car driving down the highway to get the adrenaline pumping. First thing I checked was that I still had steering and made sure the brakes still worked.

Ya ur lucky man by the time I realized mine was gone it was to late an I remember when it came off thats the bad thing about it but just shrugged it off thinking it was something else. I havent driven my car much since then so I havent worried about the crap getting in the bell housing but believe me ive been to the wrecking yards out here more than a dozen times helping family and friends and when im there I look for one and its a scarce part.
