OK, I've got an 02 GT bone stock and the first order of buisness is sound I want the car to have that low rumble. I do not mind waking up my neigbors! I have to run cats so an o/r x pipe is already out the window (cobb county sucks!) I also dont want to spend an insane amount of money. So please can someone tell me what will sound Good.

Honestly exaust tone is all personal prefferance. I personally have weld in flows and like them, especially at idle and when I get on it. The drone can be anoying at times but I have learned to live with it. I recomend you check out youtube as there are tons of exaust clips.

I love my Bassani cat-back. I first liked the sound when I heard someones '01 GT with full Bassani exhaust...when he first pulled up, I asked him what cams he was running in it. He said it wasn't cammed...it was just the full exhaust...headers, off-road X, and cat-back. All Bassani.

Mufflers are definitely a preference!
Here's an awesome site with actual mustang sound clips with full exhaust to just weld in mufflers. ;)
MustangExhaust.com - Find the Perfect Rumble!
I myself have done Flowmaster's 40's Delta Flows, and 40's Originals,Dynomax Turbo's,MAC Flowpath along with the MAC h pipe, and Bassani X pipe, with MAC headers between both my old 5.0L GT,to my current '03 GT.Right now i have the MAC H pipe with Flowmaster 40's originals. The sound combined is one angry sounding system, and sounds great when cammed too.:)

Just weld in the mufflers you want and change the midpipe =] Itll still sound good.

Also, get the o/r pipe. Its illegal pretty much everywhere but tons of mustangs run them. =] Catted midpipes are a WASTE of money on a near stock car i think. Something like a 03-04 cobra with cats sound ****ing sicc though, but even siccer with an o/r

Just do an o/r pipe and get a pair a flow 40's and dump them. You may eventually get tired of the drone though. I had a SLP loudmouth I cat back for about a year and then switched to flow 40s. I perfer the sound of a chambered exhaust over the glasspack mufflers :nice:
