Aluminum Radiator - Help

Hey guys (and gals), its been a long time since I've made a thread on here. Unfortunately the Mustang hasnt been doing so good this year and the immediate problem on the horizon is a new radiator. Mines gone bad and I need a new one asap, has anybody tried either of these aluminum radiators?

Yeah, it hasn't been a good year. Already dumped over a grand into just fixing random crap, and I'm looking at about that again. May need to sell the old girl. Apart from that, I'm also looking for a Washer bottle and pump, mines crapped out and no wreckers have one, the dealership wants 200$.

I bought a Griffin 31x19x2.5" radiator last year for like $180 from summit. Not the one that is specifically for mustangs, but a "universal" radiator, that fits just about perfectly. Only mods needed were SN95 hoses.

Man you know the funny thing with the Griffin radiators? They make the Summit brand, its the same radiator just no Griffin stamp on the tanks. I found that out when i started working there last summer, then i got laid off. But not before I scored a radiator for employee price . And also the family that owns Griffin also owns Be Cool, so they are basicly the same also. The radiators are great, my car barley gets warm

*edit* Looks like they are cheaper by about $20, although they're also 1/4" thinner than my Griffin. Pretty similar specs though.

Thanks for all the replies. Due to time constraints this time I had to just get an oem replacement. First time somethings gone bad where I didn't upgrade haha.

I got a new radiator from my work at Advance auto parts for like 80 bucks I think. Its nothing special but it was better then my old one with a crack in it and has done fine for 3 years. Plus they come with a liftime warrenty so if you have a problem with it you just swap it out. Not the awesome aluminum 3 core, but its cheap and works.

Advance wont have the resivour but they should have a washer pump for cheap. Id check that out and go to ebay for the resivour like stated above. Shopping online is great and convienient but for replacement things like calipers, starters, alternators (even 3g's), water pumps, etc., people shouldnt be afraid to shop at parts stores because they always come with lifetime warrenty's and WHEN they go bad you dont have to ship anything out, just bring it to the store and they should have EVERYTHING in stock for these cars.

yes typicaly they are cheaper, just because like with anything else you pay for the name . They are still made with the same quality tho. Its the same process with all of them, honestly if you put them side by side w/o seeing the stamp... no difference. With my combo and most mustangs that arent running a power adder of some type, or just have alot of timing in it, a single row 1.5" is plenty. Thats what i bought and my car doesnt hardly warm up haha. In 75 degree weather or less i dont even run my electric fan. A aluminum radiator (to me) is one of the best investments for any car no matter the brand as long as you know its made well.

Get a summit one or griffin from summitracing.com

I have the summit one, my car stays so cool in the hotest summer months. Dont bother with getting one that is made specifically for it, get a universal to save money.

I bought the 30.875 inch wide by 19 inch high. The fit was a little tight, so I say go a little smaller, think its the 27 inch wide one by 19 high. Think the price is $159

note- when comparing the griffin an summit rads, I was told that summit radiators are welded and griffin are epoxy. That may have changed I dont know. Do your research. Many people think welds are better, as over time epoxy tends to leak.

Also- dont think either brand has a drain petcock. I didnt really realize it till I wanted to drain my radiator fluid lol. So I suggest getting something like this with it:
