Cam Question

Im doing a basic 306 gt-40 build with eddlebrock intakes and forged pistons for my daily driver. stock rods and crank. I have a E303 cam that's going on it but after reading some posts have read a lot of bad things about it. What cam would work good on this motor build?

What are your needs...mild, wild, emissions testing ect?

I run the 2031 in my set up which is a mild cam. Good power and great drivability.

Just a good cam for a daily driver that will put out some power. Fuel injected car, no emissions.

I have the E cam in my car, for street use i love it, but on the track i wish i had more midrange and top end power. Just doesnt pull hard enough once your out of the hole. Ive been pondering on a custom grind for my setup, little more money but well spent in my book

if that's the case then it should be perfectly fine. i plan on shooting the motor, that's what i built it for.

Yea that should be perfect for ya, i wanna spray my motor but i just dont wanna pay $800 for the plate kit to fit my intake. I dont trust the dry kits that go in the intake tube. The spray isnt distributed evenly enough thru the ports for me. What are you gonna run?

Why not get in touch with a member here, Rick 91gt at RNH performance? He deals with the custom cam guys and knows if you would be better off with a custom or an off the shelf. If not him, try woody at fordstrokers. Just my opinion that we should support the guys that support our hobby.

The B-cam is supposedly good for mid to high range but not low. E-cams are good for nitrous on the top end and that's why so many people run them. I'll let you know if I ever get mine going I just put the B in it.

That E cam will be good for you i had 1 in my car back in the mid 90's that ran mid 10's all day and still got 18 miles a gallon. Or if you have the money you could step it up to a trickflow stage 2 cam thats a good pick also.

I have the B303 and I'm happy with it...mostly because I'm running 3.73 gears.

Also, even though it isn't emissions legal, I passed the IL emissions test multiple times with this cam. Thankfully, they've discontinued the testing on cars older than 96. YES!!
