Hi guys, just a quick question about a fuel pressure gauge. I have one that I just installed under the hood, looks like maybe a pressure release valve or something on the side, not sure if it is vacuum or something. Anyways I have it hooked up to the I think call it shrader valve or something like that.. anyways... is that all you have to hook up. So without starting the car, if you put the key to the on position, do you get a constant reading on your gauge, I seem to be able to build up the fuel pressure on my gauge by putting the ignition on then off then on then off then on then off, without starting the car, then it will get up to a max.. say eg. 45 psi. Is this normal, can someone tell me what they see on there gauge when you put the key to the on position but without starting thanks, would be a big help!

I also am going to check what Jrich... told me on another post, but I didn't get a reply about the above question. Thanks guys!!

And Jrich.. I did get your schematic for the ect sensor control design, which I do intend on playing with on a electronics program I have, which could be interesting, I will let you know how it goes when I get a chance! Thanks!! I will check your suggestions regarding the two codes I was getting first thing!

Yes that's exactly what I have, the fuel pressure tester kit, with the line that comes of the valve! So it's normal to have to turn it on, then off, then on, then off, over and over. So I guess tomorrow I will do that and adjust it to the 39 psi for the starting point. Jricher's Advice! Sweet! Other than that just have to figure out the error codes. Which I have a hole write other post for, with lots to do! Hopefully I will hear her start tomorrow!!! I'll cross my fingers!!

45 on a prime-out is in the ballpark. I would not hose with the FP setting for right now. The assumed value by the EEC is just over 40 PSI.

When the FPR hs no vac, you should see your current reading or a bit less. At idle with the vac line attached, look for 30+ PSI.
